I know people will say “No Paper Vehicles!” But just hear me out. The XP-69 and XF-108 are beautiful aircrafts that I believe deserves a place in the game even as a Event or a Premium. These aircrafts are one of a kind that everyone just refuses to acknowledge and appreciate.
Sure they look cool, but no. At least not until we run out of real vehicles to add. And we’re VERY far from that…
I’m not even talking about top tier, middle ranks are half empty
Well that’s only my view but…
First off, there’s a huge load of aircraft that really existed, played a role in militaries, and are overall really cool, and still aren’t in the game. One example is the F-101s, which are incredibly overdue by now. So, adding fictional planes feels really unfair when those options exist.
Then, even though this game isn’t quite realistic, one of its features is the presence of real historical vehicles with stats that are supposed to be somewhat accurate. If we start adding fictional planes, we’re gonna have to make up a lot of stuff, the main one being the very existence of the plane. And I don’t support that.
Actually, I don’t even support adding weaponry to planes that had none IRL, like the Su-47 for example
I’m against both. They are fictional and I’m not here to fly fake things that may have never even been able to take flight. Plus, why waste resources on fictitious vehicles when we have so many real ones yet to be added? Until we get the F7U, A-5 Vigilante, F-101, etc. There is no point to adding these fake things.
There’s also multiple prototypes that still haven’t come to the game yet (I mainly look at the XP-47 prototypes, the inline and steroid ones). Paper vehicles won’t be needed for a very long time.
How are these fake and “fictitious” again? They weren’t completely paper planes, a XP-69 was 75-80% complete before the USAAF cancelled it, the XF-108 Already had its systems and such built and so did its engines since it had the same engines as the XB-70. Fictional to me is the TIE fighter from star wars.
Being mostly built and actually having test flights with real data are 2 different things. Gaijin has requirements for these kinds of vehicles and I’m pretty sure these don’t meet them.
I see, I do recognize your point that Gaijin needs concrete evidence of its data and such. I might just be a hopeless romantic wanting these planes in the game
Just because Gaijin added partly complete and even fully paper aircrafts to the game doesn’t mean we’re ok with that. Adding an airworthy version still wouldn’t be any realistic
I would be fine with these if they were incomplete prototypes. Like having the engine, frame, radar, and plans to be armed. Things to show that they were at least planned to fly at one point
if the answer is anything other than A, its a fictitious vehicle. In the same way wooden mockups don’t count, non-flight capable prototypes do not count. Simple as.
Hated on for not applying bug reports with declassified documents that give clear evidence of the real performance of a plane, bug reports that they sometimes literally accept and then don’t apply.
Do I really need to tell you all about the Harrier?
