Give Leclerc tanks SHARD ammunition

It’s unfair that France gets it’s latest and greatest while Germany and the US are stuck with 90’s stuff

You can just look at statshark and see wether to value someone’s opinion or not honestly.

What you only need to understand is this:

Last time we trusted on your educated guess, we ended up with the skewed air top tier meta we have today with the Rafale and micas dominating a whole year back to back, and it’ll keep pushing the air powercreep even more. So let me be skeptical of your conservative views on French systems and performance. Given your history, we may end up with a round capable to lolpen Russian frontplates.

2A7V entered service in 2021?
And the first upgrade over DM53 is DM73 from 2023

Performance > Year of introduction

SHARD hasn’t even entered service yet. And yes, the 2A7V needs more counterparts from as many countries as possible at once

This is ground devs we’re talking about here, unfortunately they don’t love France as much as the air devs do.

first ones handed over 2019, quite a bit older

while DM63 is not a “performance” upgrade its still an upgrade

problem is, it can be realy counted on one hand which countries have equivalents.
Dont mind that germany already has multiple better 2a7V in production / development etc

Best Gaijin can do is SHART ammunition coming hot out of the barrel.

I am mostly joking but that is certainly an exception.

They’re a tradeoff. For example, the Abrams used to consistently lose both its turret ring and engine when penetrated through the turret neck before the full modeling of the turret basket. After the basket was added, it now eats spall, which would break the engine, allowing you to run off and live for another fight.

I have nearly every top-tier MBT. The only ones I don’t own are the Leclerc, Ariete, Strv 122, and ZTZ.

The Turret Basket is extremely beneficial for tanks like the Abrams as it prevents spall from hitting the engine from the front.

I have never heard a single person ever say that. If you have any experience at a top-tier, the only consistently competitive MBTs are the Leopards and Abrams. There are some tanks like the Type 10, which have their niche, but the Leclerc, Ariete, Merkava, ZTZ, and such don’t have any niche. They’re just bad.

The Leopard has nearly 100mm of extra penetration over the Leclerc AND is frontally immune to the majority of guns when positioned. The Leclerc is green to nearly every shell at its tier, like the Ariete and Merkava.

What good is a 5-second autoloader when you’re shell is uncompetitive and worse than the Strv122B’s M322, while you also have worse armor than both German and Swedish Leopards?

Aside from the 1-second advantage that Leclerc has, which Abrams also has, what advantage does it provide?

The Leclerc has a weaker shell, weaker armor, and for what? An autoloader? Autoloaders aren’t some miracle device. They sacrifice a crew member, which drops the survivability further as a result.

Why should anyone play the Leclerc over the Type 10? The Leclerc is equally durable, less mobile, has a slower reload, no suspension control, and has nearly 100mm less penetration. They’re both autoloaded.

The only positive is that when you die, you get the option to get into a French aircraft that can royally bully almost anything else in the game without too much effort. Japan doesn’t get AASM or Rafale competition.

That’s probably the real reason people are coming out of the woodwork to stonewall SHARD, they’re mad that French air has become insanely strong and they don’t want to see French ground be buffed until French air is back in a terrible state.

I don’t believe in the “french mains better” thingy, it’s just a matter of people grinding it when they are already veterans and not new to the game

That being said, 0.2 is quite massive, and in the present case, killing more that you get killed instead of the other way around

German players, like russian or US ones, also tend to have more erratic behaviors (pushing unassisted, not checking flanks, etc …) than their british, japanese, french, italians counterparts.

Using stats is what Gaijin does and as the example above shows, it doesn’t work, otherwise there would be a .3 - .7 difference

To get back on SHARD, the shell of course won’t change the weakspots you have to aim at, but a little more post pen damage could really help, because the little things like volumetric shenanigans, certain autoloaders eating the round or black hole ERA tend to be even more problematic on lower pen rounds

Might as well say that “Dev favoring a nation is entirely okay as long as it is MY nation that they favor”.

I can see how it’s easy for you to make that conclusion to serve whatever purpose you have in mind rather than acknowledge that it is a tongue-in-cheek response to a tongue-in-cheek statement

If thats the case, fair enough, I apologize for jumping the gun. Jokes and sarcasm are difficult to get through plain text, and ive witnessed people saying hits unironically.

It’s all good, I gave PyroAddict the benefit of the doubt that he’s joking when implying devs may model SHARD to lolpen Russian front plates knowing how they modeled the Rafale

The problem is even if france winrate stats are crazy high, it doesn’t mean they don’t have the possibility to get their real equipement and vehicules
