F-14D with AMRAAMs would be 13.0 as it can only carry 4 - 6 AMRAAMs allegedly, it’d be F-16 equivalent.
So no the gap would be minor.
F-14B’s dogfight performance is among the best in War Thunder.

And this was the first plane to have ARH missiles, and currently is still the only. If you don’t understand the power of the ARH missile, it’s better than your 9M if your playing it smartly.
It has further advancements, technically Aim-120 capability, and possibly later Aim-9M blocks. Should be the furthest end of the line tomcat with the most modern capabilities, I just want the gaps to be filled and more viable BR options to be possible for player choice.
F-18A can be between F-14B and D, perfect for 12.7.
And F-18C will go beyond F-14D.

The Top Gun movie was made in the time of AIM-9Ms, the first ones.
People also forget we have at least 2 F-18E variants after the F-18C Block 20.

Gaijin will likely lock the AIM-9M behind the F-14D. A good question is why hasn’t the F-14D arrived yet? I’ve anticipated it for two patches so far, and it makes more sense for it to come in the previous patches than for it to be outclassed soon.

I can’t see it getting AIM-9M since Gaijin does need a reason to keep F-14B and F-14D different. Giving them both the same kits (AIM-54C and AIM-9M) makes little sense tbh.
F-14A early came to the game in a June patch in 2022.
F-14B came to the game in a June patch in 2023.
It’s possible they’ll add it this June and continue a trend but who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯

sounds quite hard that the US was the only tree you can get Fox 3 missiles in for 2 years
i do think the aim152 could potentially provide a sense of uniqueness to the aircraft because as ive said already the aircraft will go up regardless when dual plane is implemented but right now no the B doesnt need aim9Ms

Yes, this is clearly an assumption made based on trends regarding the previous variants implementations.
Which makes me wonder why they even gave Aim-54C to the F-14B just to be a copypaste/worst aim-54A. They don’t seem to have any intention to buff them and if they are waiting for the fox-3 update that would mean giving a br increase to the F-14B at the very least anyway.
A potential F-14D with only the aim-9M and the new radar, without aim-120 and the same 18G limited phoenix would be terrible above 12.3 imo and not be worth using instead of the A/B.

F-14D with 2x AIM-9M, 4x AIM-120, and 4x AIM-54C (buffed to it’s real performance) would be amazing. I don’t think I’d play anything else XD
Here’s the dual AMRAAM mount btw, goes on the wing glove hardpoint.
If we end up getting this is another question, AFAIK the F-14D was wired for and compatible with AIM-120, but none of the missiles were ordered or used operationally. (Due to budget cuts)
