So it wouldn’t make a difference if all of them were smiliar ;)
So i shouldn’t be able to play with my friends without them having a bad time?
Your arguments make no sense.
Do you consider how it feels for your victims?
Imagine going in to fly around, still learning how not to kill yourself by pulling too hard and this weirdo with 400 hours of flight time keeps showing up and spooking you and you keep crashing and end up deciding “yeah nah, I won’t play this game mode.”
(and it sucks for the 400 hour weirdo as well because you don’t get cool dogfights, or even kills because that fw190/spitfire keeps spinning out and crashing before your shots connect)
And Your friend in BT-5 is going to have much fun?
So we’re back to my original solution.
put level <30 players in their own matchmaker so they can learn the game in peace
So according to you, your highest unlocked BR = skill level?..
Level is meaningless.
Someone who is level 100 with zero flight time deciding to try out a new mode will suffer immensely.
Whereas someone who played hundreds of hours of DCS/IL-2 who wants a more casual/fast-paced experience will absolutely clown on people at level 5 or 10.
And someone who plays Ground RB and Air sim has zero skill overlap between the two modes, yet for some reason they should have the same matchmaker (nevermind the weird lobby system EC has for now).
We should have different ELO for each game mode.
Then, on top, we should have different elo brackets for different major technological eras (Interwar, WW2 and post-war propeller planes, gunfighter jets, dogfight missiles, BVR).
Because that same “level 100” issue presents itself. I like to think I’m competent with my propeller planes when it comes to 1 vs 1 dogfights in reasonable weather. I have zero clues how BVR combat works. Why should my levels gained flying around at 3.0-5.7 put me with veteran players at 13.0-14.0 should I ever decide “yeah, I’ll try BVR.”
I’m just pointing out that Your logic applies to other things
And your logic does not exist.
Because I want all players to have a good time like in most games?
Right
Except you clearly don’t.
You don’t want friends to play together if they’re at different skill levels…
Ranked and casual should be 2 different modes
Yeah, having to tryhard every single game to play with a friend that could have a reasonably higher/lower skill than mine is a great time, huge incentive to play with friends, like Warzone, right?

This here is all that there is to know about matchmaking, nothing more and nothing less:
