Just did a few test drives and it’s performance is very close to other vehicles with similar engine ratios. Still the maximum speed issue is clear, it can’t even get close to 80kmh. This thing drives almost exactly like a CM25, which is just a fat, overtiered M113.
Doesn’t really seem to be, public sources say it is either 12 or 13 tons.
i remember that suggestion, it’s well made :)
i hope so, there is no reason to not let players do that, but of course it doesn’t generate revenue so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
The “13 tonnes” figure comes from the specs for the drivetrain upgrade to rate all of the 235bhp CVR(T) up to 13 tonnes, allowing for further growth potential.
Since the 195bhp Mk.1 Scimitars had gone from 7.8 tonnes, to 9 tonnes, to over 11 tonnes through the course of upgrades and modifications on ops during the previous decade, it was considered there should be some headroom in the 235bhp upgrade.
Scimitar Mk.2 wasn’t the heaviest variant among the EM235s and Mk.2s however, and figures for individual variants of the CVR(T)s don’t indicate any of them actually reached 13 tonnes GVW.
MoD figures for individual EM235 and Mk.2 CVR(T)s give Scimitar at 12,262 kg (max) and heavier versions such as the Sultan command post, and Samaritan ambulance variants as 12,321 kg and 12,383 kg (max) respectively.
So some CVR(T)s were already ~59-121 kg heavier than any Scimitar. When we consider the 13 tonne figure is the upper-limit that the drivetrain is rated for on all CVR(T)s, it’s not right to assume the Scimitar Mk.2 is the vehicle approaching that absolute limit.
even at 8.0 it honestly needs APFSDS to even be kinda usable (it would only give like 10mm extra pen close up but much better range pen). I could see it lower than scimitar mk1 as the mobility loss is so extreme
But everyone knows, dont play a new British vehicle until at least 6 months to a year after its added.
But is gunna be my main scout in my 9.3 lineup alongside the chieftains, where I dont really care about its fire power and just want something to scout targets with, but gunna wait for Gen 2/3 thermals before I even start doing that much.
