The history of the CVR(T) family of combat reconnaissance vehicles dates back to the 1960s. By tradition, they were given names starting with the letter “S”: Scorpion, Striker, Spartan, Samaritan, Sultan, and Samson. The seventh vehicle in the series was the Scimitar, named after the Middle Eastern saber, being fast and deadly. Get an upgraded version of the Scimitar along with themed decals and a decoration in this new ground vehicle event!

From July 22nd (11:00 GMT) until August 5th (11:00 GMT), earn mission points in Ground Battles, unlock stages and receive rewards!

Scimitar Mk.2

An Event Vehicle Light Tank for Great Britain at Rank VI

The Scimitar Mk.2 is an upgraded version of the agile British Scimitar reconnaissance vehicle. It features a new turret and additional protection in the form of composite armor elements and slat armor, while a new diesel engine compensates for the increased weight. The Scimitar’s key strengths remain: high speed, good reverse speed, and a 30 mm automatic cannon. The Scimitar Mk.2 is great at operations behind enemy lines and capturing objectives!

Among the rewards in the event is also this chest. When opened, there is a chance to receive one of the following items:

  • 50,000 - 100,000 Silver Lions
  • Silver Lion and Research Point boosters
  • Random Wagers and Orders
  • Universal Backups (1 - 3)
  • A random camouflage for a vehicle you own
  • 1 day of Premium Account

How to get all rewards

Each stage can be completed for 35,000 mission points, where every new stage obtained will give you a new reward.

Please note: After finishing a stage, you need to collect the reward manually. To do this, click on your name in-game, go to “Scimitar Strike” and click the “Get Reward” button.

You’re able to earn mission points in Ground Battles at Rank III or above in Arcade, Realistic and Simulator Battles. The number of mission points to complete a stage depends on the game mode and the maximum Rank of the vehicle that you use in battle. There’s a multiplier for earning mission points, which is shown in the task description in-game.

You can also earn mission points by using event vehicles that are Rank I and II. Event vehicles that can be used have the name of the event that they were obtainable in on their stat card.

Stages change every two days at 11:00 GMT on July 24th, 26th, 28th, 30th and August 1st and 3rd.

Rewards are given when you complete a specific number of stages

  • For 1 Stage: trophy with a random reward
  • For 2 Stages: one of the decal rewards
  • For 3 Stages: trophy with a random reward
  • For 4 Stages: one of the decal rewards
  • For 5 Stages: trophy with a random reward
  • For 6 Stages: the “Shamshir” tank decoration
  • For 7 Stages: non-tradable coupon for the Scimitar Mk.2

Discounts for purchasing stages using Golden Eagles

Unfinished stages can be purchased for Golden Eagles, but if you’re significantly close to completing a stage, its price will be significantly reduced as well.

Let’s say you have earned 85% of the required mission points to complete a stage, then the price of purchasing this stage will be halved. If you’re near the finish line for a stage and are at 95% progress, then the price will be reduced by five times. For example, if you’ve scored 30,000 mission points, then the price for unlocking this stage will be 299 Golden Eagles. If you’ve scored 33,500 mission points, then you’ll only need 119 Golden Eagles. Keep this in mind if you’re not able to complete a stage in time!

The Upgrade for a coupon

When you complete 7 stages, you’ll receive a non-tradable coupon for the Scimitar Mk.2, where using it will immediately activate the vehicle onto your account. If you don’t want the vehicle and would like to sell the coupon on the Market, you’ll need the “Upgrade for coupon” item.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item can be earned in parallel with the stages throughout the event from July 22nd (11:00 GMT) until August 5th (11:00 GMT) for 600,000 mission points.

After receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” item, you can convert a non-tradable coupon for the vehicle into a tradable one and sell it on the Market. The tradable coupon can be sold after 6 days from the moment it’s created.

To make a tradable coupon, select the “Coupon Scimitar Mk.2” (Great Britain)” in your inventory and click the “Modify” button.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item is valid until August 10th (11:00 GMT). Until this time, you can use it or exchange it for War Bonds. Afterwards, it’ll disappear from your inventory.

Tracking your progress

You can track the progress of the stages and the “Upgrade for coupon” item by clicking on your Nickname > Achievements > Scimitar Strike. If you don’t manage to complete a stage in time or would like to purchase a stage, you can purchase each stage with Golden Eagles until August 10th from the Achievements window, which will give you the corresponding rewards.

A kind of cool reward, in 2026? Damn I thought it was impossible.

Im gonna bust

Questionable for an event vehicle, honestly. The Scimitar is a not-so-mobile light tank, and this one is heavier, with no real added benefit.

Especially for it costing 35,000 score every 2 days. The only possible way to redeem this thing is to make it a premium, honestly.

Hmmm, at least that addon armour will give me somewhere to keep my chickens…

I love the Scimitar but it’s a tiny shame this is the event version, hopefully the datamined versions come to the tech tree.

YES FINALLY

need this one next.

also gonna guess 8.0? its a little slower in top speed and a lot heavier, much heavier than the extra 40bhp can account for

Yippee

Thermal + LRF?

We dont talk about the 51% crash rate scimitar

I’d hope so, cause if not, this poor thing is gonna be less useful than the current one.

Should have thermals but the LRF is uncertain. all of my documentation of CVRTs is from the initial batches in the 70s, the scimitar 2 is 30 years later than my newest manual and brochure

LRF should be integrated into the sight so I would be very surprised if it didn’t have it

Here we go, another event i’ll have to grind.

Or you could skip it and get it for 5 bucks on the market after

would we be getting the prototype APFSDS rounds by Rheinmetall in the 00s for the RARDEN given the modernisation of the vehicle was originally including that, but it got dropped due to expecting CT40 to replace RARDEN on Warrior and Scimitar replaced by Ajax?

Very cool event, such an iconic british vehicle! Gonna have to dust off my GRB skills to grind this

A huge disappointment for me. There are practically no rea tanks in the events, just mainly IFVs and wheeled vehicles. Removing the crafting events was a really bad decision. Yes, they were bad, but at least they had interesting rewards and not just slightly modified vehicles from the tree.

It should be a integrated TLS with the thermals but i dont know 100% the details. considering how warrior was upgraded with exactly that i doubt its not a TLS/thermal system
