We know the LEP ESPIRE in the files isn’t a EM235.
EM235s have square boxy intake cover, compared with the rounded off intake cover of the LEPs
Non-zero chance it’s just something Gaijin doesn’t know tbf, finding a picture of a EM235 without all the additional armour panels is hard.

EM235 IRL
Amusingly the Scimitar Mk.2 should have the EM235 upgrades
I didn’t know there were more sabres, sorry my mistake, however due to it being almost the same as the scimitar Mk 1, I would still prefer the Sabre to be the event vehicle and the Scimitar Mk.2 be techtree
Keep meaning to write a suggestion for them, they appear to have a mix of LEPs and EM235s

Yeah, but I don’t know why you’d go through the effort of stripping out the uprated engine and final drives when selling straight from British Army stocks
I think I’m just annoyed about this because I don’t like how grindy the event system is, I have some personal stuff happening during the event and probably won’t be able to get the vehicle.
the supermarine scimitar has absolutely zero rudder control over 200mph so it performs awful in a dogfight, or anything that isnt a continuous pull turn
that wasnt its issue in real life. just gaijin misinterpreting pilots notes.
It was simply too big and fat for RN carriers, and had a lot of hydraulic and electrical gremlins, thats if it even got home. the RN had no experience with such a chonky aircraft beforehand
I just don’t think it’s a good fit as an event vehicle, I think event vehicles should be interesting prototypes, not vehicles that entered service and saw combat. The Scimitar Mk.2 isn’t the most significant vehicle, but 50 (a lot when you only have ~300 MBTs) did enter service with the British Army and saw combat in Afghanistan with the Household Cavalry
In my opinion, a good example of a good event vehicle is the EFV, which was a cancelled prototype amphibious vehicle that, while not very good in game, is notable for having incredibly high mobility in water.
Alternatively, the Spitfire Vb (float) is also a good event vehicle, a unique Spitfire variant with floats, 2 were built but never saw combat as it was found that salt water corroded the fuselage
