Get the Iranian F-14A IRIAF in the ‘Persian Tomcat’ event

So far confirmed missiles are AIM-9P, AIM-7E-2, AIM-54A, R-27R1, Fakour-90 and Sedjil

I wish others were trying to do the same. Discussions are much more enjoyable than shit-flinging.

I would have an Iranian/Turkish TT that would be something.
I would have a South American TT and that would be something else.

Amen Brother!

Seeing as its not directly mentioned likely not but it could possibly be there on release

I’m just intrigued since normally russian planes with access to the R-24 and R-27 missiles also have access to the T variants. The other missiles mentioned are mostly comparable to what’s present on the other tomcats. But 27T would give this tomcat a small capability niche that the domestic tomcats don’t have.

Agreed, more is learned in a civil conversation rather than a verbal wrestling match

It’s like the Thai F-5. Should’ve gone to the US by that logic, why Japan? Theme-ing and other considerations (like an Asian subtree for a country that needs a lot more vehicles) put it there.

At BR’s the F-14 is still the only serious missile bus, and where does it go? The US. Could’ve gone to the USSR or China who both could use a missile bus at that tier. If for no other reason that themes and gameplay balance.

For the record, the Moderna should be in an EE tech tree, not the USSR.

Or close to identical. The Iranians have to hand-fabricate some of these parts because they don’t have perfect specs. The Tomcat still flies in Iran. I’d argue, with (as time goes on) significantly more Iranian parts.

Oh so now it’s a question of needs well in that case Russia doesn’t need a sub tree after the 14th T-80

As far as I understand, there’s a technical limitation. For the same reasons the R-73 probably isn’t on this F-14 gaijin is cooking up, and why it may not have worked in real life either. Large amounts of cryogenic cooling are needed, and (like on the Flanker) only certain pylons can actually keep the head cool enough.

I’d be surprised if the IRIAF F-14 gets the R-27T1.

That’s kinda the option Russia gets

One of the major reasons it’s going to the US is due to the military relations at the time of Iran’s acquisition of the Tomcat. The US and Iran were close allies at the time before the eventual point where they were no longer allies. The Thai F-5E went to Japan due to their military relations and geography. Most commonly vehicles go to countries with the closest relations in terms of military before geography (give or take some vehicles though) Nonetheless you do make a good point of the Tomcat being the only serious missile bus of its BR bracket.

I suppose the Tomcat is pretty notorious for having some of the most intensely hot engines around.

its not a subtree, like canada, its just wherever it goes it goes,

India Is a british Subtree, as South africa is, as hungary is for italy, and most of the other eastern european vehicles, then also you have norwegans and danish in sweden, just because it doesnt have a tech tree line doesnt mean its not a subtree

one vehicle does not state that is a subtree, like would we say brazil is a italian subtree, South vietnam a US subtree, portugal a italian subtree and so on

Nah, it was added to the US tech tree simply because the F-14A is a American vehicle, it has nothing to do with their previous relations. This is also a post revolution F-14A so that wouldn’t make any sense anyways.

Just checked that and its surprisingly good. Honestly Im amazed
