So just wondering if the current in game version of the plane is the total weapons loadout or if we can expect for to be added for its BR? Lovely model overall, just worry its armaments a little lacking for the BR placement.
can you please send the link to the test drive? i can’t find it
The AAMs seem to be placeholders as it should be carrying A-91s which are a K-13 variant but for some reason they seem to be C&P Aim-9Bs
So IAR does need to have a Br reduction
thanks a lot
would be if gaijin carred about gameplay cause as of rn it is a flying piece of junk that has no flare, cannot turn, 4 10g at 9.7. only good thing being the 2 23mm gun.
That was more of a general statement about exclusively playing one nation
oh sorry mb i though you were saying that the IAR had a lot of interesting feature lmao.
IAR 93 and J 22 B are different cockpit and on board equipment.
IAR uses adapted MiG 21 MF/Bis era equipments while Yugo adapted on Orao more western inspired equipment. (since at that time they had F84,F86, F86D)
9.7 is total BS with R3S and no flares/chaff … for example F-100 who is a proper supersonic jet, has more speed, more ordnance, better ordnance is 9.3 …
Also compare 9.7 IAR vs 10.0 Su 25 / 25K … is insane
I hope 9.7 is place holder and it will drop at 8.7-9.0
even G91 YS is 9.3 … lol
A-91 is R-3S (aka K-13 familly of missiles)
But probably you think about R-13 missile, but IAR did not have that. (we did not find anything about it any where)
The IAR 93 test pilot wrote in his book about the R-3S and R60
The INCAS institute wrote on their website specs for the plane 8 air to air missiles (double per pilon)
Romania never had Mavericks.
It was planed to use local made A-921 missile (licesed Kh23) same as J22 B Orao
Also the plane should have 5 x 500Kg bombs and from what i see Gaijin gave it only 3 x 500kg.
We need to wait for final version on release and i hope Gaijin will fix the problems.
Are there any manuals we can prove for Gaijin to add these? I once saw an INCAS article on it carrying the 8 A-91 missiles, but… no concrete proof or manuals for it.
the MiG-21PFM got done dirty by gaijin, this is less capable in all aspects than it and at a higher BR. we making bets on how far it falls in br?
No flares, only aim-9b and only 2 (it can carry 4 but don’t change much) of them.
Not worth the grind nor the money. Love how when is italy turn to get an event vehicle is a flying turd
I believe it could carry R-60s IRL, which would make the BR make sense if it had them in WT.
In its current state, I can’t see it being higher than 9.0.
Agreed. I’d rather have it moved down instead of getting R-60s at 9.7. It will not be good at 9.7 without flares, even if it does get R-60s. It won’t be bad, but it would be better for the plane to move down.
Facing all aspect 30g missiles in a flareless subsonic plane is something you shouldn’t ever be forced to do.
Just curious if that would be both the current missile and R60 or just 1 of them set up for that.
Would be an interesting plane if it could field 8 R60s.
It needs to get the R60s and stay at 9.7 imo. It is a fairly modern plane. It also needs to be able as many missiles as it could in real life since it does not have flares. I think all the wing pylons were double pylons. It will then have s chance to be an offensive only plane. At the moment, with R3S missiles, up to 4, subsonic, no countermeasures, it only rivals the G91, F86, F9F, etc. which are sometimes planes at 8.3 or 8.7. It was meant to rival the early Jag with Aim9G, the A4E with countermeasures and the Super Etendard with Magic 1 and countermeasures. It doesn’t match up well with the planes against which it was meant to compete. Come on Gaijin, give it a chance, put the R60s in otherwise it will be a pain to play. It would be unfair to lower it BR just to make it competitive against planes it was never meant to compete against like the G91 and its lot.
100% proof with pictures is A-91 ( local made R-3S)
Stop dreaming about R60 because we have no 100% proof and also R60 will make it up in BR where IAR doesnt have the speed and counter measures to play.
My opinion 4 x A91 is fine, no flares is fine, but 9.7 is way way too much … 8.7 - 9.0 it is where it should be
I was actually kinda excited for it :( first truly unique event airframe we’ve seen in uhh…how many years has it been?
Were they really just regular R-3S missiles? I would have thought they would have been based on R-13Ms by the time the IAR-93B entered service
I suspect that the Romanians would have integrated the same launchers as they had on their Russian made Mig 21 planes which carried R60 missiles. There’s not many pictures of the plane on the internet period so I am not sure if the fact that there are no pictures helps much. The plane was intended asa CAS and low level interceptor.
I agree that without flares and with only A91 missiles it should be 9.0 max but more likely 8.7. But this will not pitch it against the right competition.
