Get the IAR-93B in the Flight of the Vulture Event!

Depending on the final flight model and AAMs I’d say 9.0.
If the IAR-93B ends up having great maneuverability and/or missiles that are better than AIM-9Bs I would agree with 9.3 though.

They need to give it the 5 x 500 kg bombs, because now only has 3 x 500 kg

I was hyped too, First High tier even vehicle for Italy. Ofc Gaijin had to ruin it

I mean, it’s not Gaijins fault that the IAR-93s real life specs are so mediocre.

They can adjust the BR and/or give it slightly better missiles (if there is at least a slither of evidence supporting the use R-60s or of the A-91 being better than stock R-3S), but at the end of the day it’ll still be a kinda mediocre plane.

Personally, I am excited for this one because it is at one of my favourite BR ranges and it isn’t yet another mainstream vehicle. (Though I still hope that there will be a tech tree variant of it)

Well, i think that Gaijin have made allowances for other planes and even allowed planes which never saw service in the game which may not have seen service at all perhaps due to also being mediocre. On this basis, they need to ensure that the plane is playable. At the moment, it’s probably one of the worst planes in the last dozen or so aerial events. I will still get the plane but will probably only play it a few times because it is so compromised at the moment.

Currently on live server it is 9.7.

You just… do what always happens before events?

You load up game, click the wiki link for the vehicle, and it loads in the game and you can run test room. Its been this way since forever lol. I left the link earlier.

99% of the time gaijin upload the vehicle to the live server but have it hidden several days before the event.

Why would Mavericks be added to a jet that didnt use them?

The Yugo J-22B Orao used them with a lot of documents and images to conclude this. However the Romanian IAR-93 only had access to Dumb bombs and rockets

Because people can’t make difference between IAR 93 B and J 22 B …

Plane is ok as it is now but needs lower BR … 8.7 or 9.0, more realistic would be 9.0.

And it needs to get the 5 x 500 Kg bomb load.

R60s, countermeasures, Kh 23s, Mavericks are dreams and no 100% proof.

So those are the 2 things Gaijin needs to do with the current plane as it is played via Wiki :

  1. 9.0 BR
  2. 5 x 500 Kg

Don’t forget:

  • The missing quad bomb adapter (4 x 100 kg)
Which would mean 4 x 100kg per wing pylon, for a total of 16 x 100 kg bombs

  • The 16 rockets pod launcher
(After looking through the data mine, they are available apparently)

  • The option to double mount the 16 rocket pod launchers
A more funny way of having 32 rockets per pylon than using the 32 rocket pod launcher

It’s not that people don’t know the difference between the J-22 and IAR-93, it’s that most English sites actually do list Mavericks, KH-23s and R-60s as armament options for the IAR-93B.

Plus, Romania had KH-23s, so it would seem plausible for them to have used those missiles on the IAR-93.

The problem comes in the fact that Romania did plane an upgrade package to incorporate the Romanian copy of the Kh23 as well as other avionics in the cockpit however it did not come to fruition due to cost and the IAR-93 being retired before it could happen

Documents on the internet seem to mirror that of the J-22 when there is articles about them both. They had different cockpits for example and different payload

These documents are decent on this however i do have the JNA manual on the J-22 and IJ-22

Likely the usual joyful situation where 1 guy mistranslates/assumes and then all the sources quote source each other based on it.

Bovington is famous for doing that with tanks for example and because everyone just trusts them, nobody really questions it.

If i had a shot for everytime someone did this then i would have liver poisoning by now

Plenty of documents and photos of mavs in Yugo service. Me IRL sitting here with a aircraft technician manual of the AGM-65B from 1988 in yugo service.

It basically goes down to what happens whenever there is a joint project between nations on something. They have different ideas of what to use the airframe for and due to the age it all gets merged into one by lazy wiki writers

Gaijin does sometimes allow for this kind of thing iirc right? One can dream ofc.

Yeah but i disagree with them doing such as then you have more Paper Tigers in the game

Unless someone have forced gaijin to pick that plane for Italy yes, Is their fault.
They could have picked a more avanced Plane but no. Better give a F-14 with better missiles to the usa and this Flying turd to italy
