When: From March 20th (11:00 GMT) until March 23rd (11:00 GMT).

Where: Germany > Aviation > Premium vehicles.

  • The La-5FN (Germany) is only available during this promotion.

About this aircraft

  • The Luftwaffe obtained an advanced La-5FN equipped with a more powerful ASh-82FN engine with direct fuel injection. This engine significantly increased the aircraft’s speed, climb rate, and maneuverability at low altitudes. Its twin 20 mm ShVAK cannons are a reliable tool for winning air battles!

I don’t know why a rank3 plane costs 5k+

Noice

Nice, but not worth that prize.

That isn’t nice, that is way overpriced.
I have the plane, and I am relatively sure it never costed this much back when I bought it.

I was so expensive in the past, or at least about 4.5k…
1 of 2 overpriced prop-plane premium: La-5 and the russian 190D-9.
They were overpriced back in the day and apparently still are. A shame. As a collector of prop-planes, i would buy it in a second with 30% off, but not for the is (full) price

The La-5FN was first used in large numbers during the Battle of Kursk mid 1943. At this time the Luftwaffe used 109 G-5s and G-6 models.

So why is the USSR aircraft at BR 3.7 and his German counterpart at BR 4.7 in Air RB? Asking for a friend…

I found a nice DEFYN vid featuring the La-5FN:

Because the G-6 has engine settings of a 1944, variant like the G-14 🙂

Then why is the 109 G-2 not at BR 3.7?

Then you must have bought it when it was on sale and still available. The price hasn’t changed since beta, if ever. If the old forums were still around, you’d find players complaining about the price just like today… :)

For the same reason why the german 15 cm Pz.W.42 costs nearly 5k and the US Calliope almost 10k: to limit their numbers in battles…
You see, back in the days, like waaaaaay back when the BR system was still just a thought and TTs were divided into 20 ranks, this aircraft was OP af, so in order to prevent it from ruining battles, Gaijin gave it this chubby price tag.
Similarly, the mentioned ground vehicles had to be limited due to technical issues. The game engine back then was struggling with large explosions so much, that even only 2-3 arty strikes happening at the same time anywhere on the map could cause a major lag. Having multiple of those vehicles unleashing their fiery rain could turn the game into a slideshow or worse, crash the game completely on weaker rigs…

If you think that this is expensive, imagine what this amount of money could get you 13 years ago irl… :)
