Yep…the La-5FN is a superb little plane and the captured German one is no different. I’ve gotten test drives for the German La-5FN several times and liked it.
However, the German one is entirely single-purposed (not even the weedy 50kg bombs) and >5000 GE is simply absurd for a recolor. Its price should be dropped by 50-90% honestly.
If it was at a price of 500-2500 GE, it’d be reasonable…at 5000 GE, it simply isn’t worthwhile.

It was actually significantly cheaper (by about at least 1/3, IIRC), but it became a meme plane once players noticed its highly dubious RB flight characteristics, so Gaijin upped the price to further cash in on its sudden immense popularity. Then the flight model got fixed, but Gaijin never reverted the prize, hence the current confusion about the exorbitant cost of a merely decent premium.

I just googled screenshots from 2013 and that La-5FN was always this expensive. That must be the reason I didn’t buy it.

Here’s a screenshot of the 2013 German air tree from game version 1.25- the listed price for the German La-5FN is a mere 1750 GE, even cheaper than I remembered.

Just checked again, the screenshot I found must have been from 1.39+. It had rhe Cl-13 and Mig-15bis as top tier already.
So it was already from 2014. Somewhere in between they must have increased the price.
Well, they removed it and then they return it ever now and then for 5000 GE.
must be before like 1.39 as it still has the old 20Rank system
i remember that be 1200SL before the removal…
so is a big no no… for that airplane that we have for freeeeeeeeeee in soviet tree(Russia is after the 90s people).
