Roar mentions a video system, same as in Freedom Fighter in Service with Norway. I cant find out what it is specifically though.

I don’t fully understand what you mean?

This part:

A video system added to the F-5 during TIGER-PAWS

Is it not just referring to the cockpit video recorder system that is part of the F-16MLU-type HUD?
On the F-16C and F-16A MLU, the video camera is located in front of the HUD looking forward, but not seen if it’s there on the F-5A(G) HUD

Ed:- finally found an image that shows there might be a similar video camera installed on the F-5A(G)

already halfway thru rank 6 so it’ll be perfect :)

I know Mk.3 Penguin is a Fire-and-forget missile.
However, there are still differences in how to find the target for targeting.
If F5A(G) doesn`t have a screen for the TV, the thermal has no meaning for the player who flying this, because it can not access the thermal at all.
So what I can imagine is that the player could only aim the target at the 3rd person’s view or cockpit view with the nose heading. And the missile would find any target it could hit by it self?

Wish it was more like history pages events where you get more days per task and 20k score

they need to make them last more than 2 days anyways

Here is the cockpit of the F-16A Block 15, which we know fired Penguins:

Here is the cockpit of the F-5A(G):

Neither of them has a TV screen, so that question is irrelevant.

iirc it is named like “radar/eo display”

Yeah I double checked and you are correct. I take my point back.

I put the unrestricted public release F-16 manual up earlier in the thread with it’s firing modes.
I’d assume the F-5 is identical

Here the plane is seen with the Chaff pods, by the RNoAF these were called A-38N “The Viking Shield”
It has chaff countermeasures, with an amount between 120-196x in each pod, they were used on the F-16’s at the time as well. I think it is more or less the same pods as the AN/ALE-38 on the F-105D, and i understand them has also been used on the Swedish Draken

Gonna need to bug report Penguin, it has only 48kg of HE instead of 130kg

Also am i crazy or did the F5A not have CCIP in Norwegian service? Im pretty sure it did

Apparently this is the explosive mass, the warhead is 130kg of the Mk.3 variant but i am a little uncertain, not much information about the explosive type either

Honestly this vehicle needs its CCIP, at 10.7 its pretty much worthless since i can have the AJS37 which is better in every way to this thing. I think at 10.3 or 10.0 whatever the BR the Tornado MFG is then it might be balanced.
