The J7HA has the equivelant of two python 3s and two 9Ls is it not? or did it get changed and ive missed it?
And the J7HA has far better acceleration and top speed than the F5A last i checked as well, its FM isnt worse generally speaking, the F5A retains speed sure, but it also cant drop below about 750kmph or it just sheds it insanely quickly, then struggles to regain it, where the J7HA can accelerate back out of it again.
also the 20mms on the F5 just aint what they used to be man, the velocity is incredibly short on them now compared to when u used to get 1km snipes.
Id 100 percent take the J7HA at that BR than an F5A
The JH-7A has 2 PL-8s (Python 3 copies, Pythons are marginally better than AIM-9Ls so I consider them equivalents) and 2 PL-5Cs (AIM-9L but fast for a little bit).
The acceleration part is true but the F-5A will wipe it in a dogfight easily. The JH-7A also has ye olde GSh-23 so better or worse depending on your opinion regarding that gun.
I would really say it’s down to opinion and we can agree to disagree. I’m intrigued to see how Gaijin chooses to balance it though.
Not technically true for either, the PL8’s function better than 9Ls due to the way the missile pulls, so it has more range if i remember right.
and PL5Cs are absolutely better than 9Ls IMO the fact they are so fast means they are longer range AND have the advantage of the motor burning out faster leaving them invisible for longer.
Hardly mate? the only advantage as ive said the 5A has is retention, the JH7A has better AoA and acceleration, and missiles, as well as a higher CM count (as far as we know as the 5A didnt have internal CMs so may need pods). the missiles are objectively better unless the F5A G gets 9Ms.
Depending what its mounted on, its by far the biggest and IMO only draw back for the striker.
remember youre comparing what is a designated air supperiority fighter, with a 2 man strike plane.
that is not good xD
JH7A seems quite good for a strike craft armed with decent missiles.
Mind you like i said, were comparing a strike craft to designated fighter, that isnt exactly doing wonders for its resumé, realistically should compare it with say the mig21 bison as its 12.3.
Better missiles, avionics, acceleration, AoA, top speed and overall performance.
Bar in retention. Which the F5’s when uptiered no one tries to play that way, they just run
Idk. 1500 points in ground is around 5 kills. By the time you are getting your 3rd or 4th kill enemy probably has CAS in the air so you are at mercy of aircraft. On the other hand 1500 points in air is around 2.5 kills which I feel like I can get quite easily. There is a lot of opportunities per game for “free kills” in ARB but in ground I don’t feel like that’s the case.
I feel like ground is much more unpredictable due to CAS and people willing to die for a kill. In air you can be almost untouchable with good positioning.
the total sum of extra points you get in low tier matches vastly offset the lower multiplier. If I was insane enough to grind this air event id be sticking to Wyvern, spitfire LF mk9c and the spitfire mk24 as I do very very well in them and will offset the penalty for not tolerating top tier hell
