Very cool aircraft, lowkey wouldve been nice to see it get 9Ms instead of 9L. Ik it never carried 9Ms irl, but gaijin has 9Ms on other aircraft that never used it so…

Incomplete prototypes and aircraft in service are a separate matter, I am afraid.
Incomplete prototypes can get all planned avionics and weapons, while the aircraft in service cannot.
9.15 is a prototype, reality is that it never had any countermeasures mounted during its prototype phase and was planned to have 2x BVP-60-26M CM dispensers mounted inside the dorsal spine, with the mounts just being covered by blanking plates.
unlike what gaijin gave it with the 2x BVP-30-26M copied over from the legacy 9.12/9.13 which it never had or was planned to have.

I was not aware that it’s, in fact, a prototype. I assumed it was intended to be a service model. Thanks for clearing it up.

What is rather funny about the F-16XL is that it has no countermeasure dispensers (both IRL and on the in-game model), but the in-game model currently has two countermeasure emitters located right where the rear AIM-120 emitters are. Meaning if nothing changes, the F-16XL will shoot fictional flares out of AMRAAM slots.
Moreover, the front facing alr-69 antennas next to the radome are also incorrectly present on the aircraft. The real F-16XL-1 lacked these, and only potentially had rear antennas for the RWR. (More likely had no RWR whatsoever)
Overall, this is a pretty fictitious aircraft as implemented and if this many royalties are going to be taken (Obviously cannot fire the AIM-120 as well, it was not a thing), the full production proposal (Including a LANTIRN pod etc.) could be implemented instead of mixing and matching.

yeah its a bit easy of a mistake to make with since MiG reused the MiG-29M name later on the 9.41S/SM model which was exported to other nations so thats where people confuse the two alot

That legend doesn’t mention Mk82 bombs at all though and we’ve seen it fly with 12x Mk82 bombs
So this legend can’t be used as the definitive options for stores available.
If we take the F-16F(XL) Test Store Loadings as the possible configurations that at least 6x AMRAAMs would be confirmed and as was said before, they specifically mention AMRAAM MRL as a separate entry to AMRAAM. So that would confirm (IMO) a twin-AMRAAM Rack was at least tested and planned for.
IMO that’s at least as good a reasoning as with the Yak-141 if not better.
but also ADF gets 2 more AMRAAMS so it may still get 13.0 air
