Get the Boxer MGS in the Mobile Sniper Event!

Turret crew are still in the same spot, stanag 4 protection not even acknowledged, missing amap plates on the back wheels, no spall liner today, holes in model, stanag level 5 turret is stanag level 1.5 lolgaijin armor, labeled not a bug for the specific reason : “It’s up to an azimuth of 30 degrees.”, linking to another post that is entirelly irrelevant.

Still waiting for a reply on the mission and drive module being protected correctly.

Stanag level 5 at 30 degrees from centerline, definitely. Yeah just go look at this post without actually LOOKING AT THE SCREENSHOT. ITS NOT STANAG LEVEL 5 STILL.

Also this Boxer MGS incorrect engine

It’s funny to watch how the developer placed the ammunition rack in the infantry compartment, at least sometimes use logic and don’t just scatter shells everywhere

Im loving this thing, with just dm33 unlocked, i got a nuke, and a gun kill with the nuke jaguar lmao

I ❤️ Go Karts with guns

How can people already have the Boxer MGS. I still have Task 8 and 9 to complete?

You only need 8 marks the 8th mark started yesterday so alot of ppl already finished it

Just remember folks - best to reserve judgement on this vehicle until a bit later on. Like all event vehicles, when first released you will be on teams of one-death leavers - because people will have this single event vehicle and no line-up to support it (even with a popular nation like Germany and ground being out since 2014, but i disgress). Wait a few weeks and the one death leavers will either get themselves a line-up or they will get frustrated and stop using the vehicle. Nothing worse than games being over in a minute because your team has already left.

Fwiw, I have not had too bad of a time with the event vehicle “noobs” this time 😄 Most are actually using it like a light tank and not running in face first. And LOTS of people using the scout button. Definitely not perfect, but better than some of the past events that I have experienced.

I can already give judgement on it.

I don’t usually venture above 9.0, but I gave it a try and was honestly quite surprised. In comparison, I absolutely loathe the Radkampfwagen, I gave up on spading it. But the Boxer is so much more fun to play despite having unlocked about the same on it as the Radkampfwagen.

I got DM63 for free and only just got the LRF unlocked, so still only about 30% researched.

I like how tall it is, because often I could find a spot on a map which would be just tall enough to hide it but I could still shoot over it. Or I can shoot over hill edge without much issues.

It usually survives being hit. I only take 16 shells, just enough to fill the turret rack. This leaves rear end of the vehicle empty. People keep shooting there for some reason. Reminds me of early PUMA days.

Paired with the TAM2C and Mig-23MF, it’s a perfect lineup. Doesn’t get sucked into top tier and DM63 handles full uptiers well.

The teams are surprisingly decent and consist of only about 50 % Boxers at most. Seems like not that many people grinded it out, or alot of people will be selling it instead.

Though I gotta say the camo selection is poor and the democamo is not that pretty TBQH.

That being said, Radkampfwagen is barely a 9.3 vehicle, they should seriously lower its BR.

So, where’s all the people who said the Boxer MGS is a good event vehicle?

I have nothing from one 10.3 tank I need line up to grind…so yeah in that regard is pure useless garbage
Otherwise I think its nice for scouting and blizkrig rushing.

Neither, with the terrible acceleration on stock, you gotta suffer and rely on scouting at long distances and maybe causing some damage with the HEATFS round.

The situation would be different if Gaijin never implemented that terrible wheel interaction to the terrain, making wheeled vehicles unreliable in most scenarios.

This vehicle never should be event, at least tech tree that’s a better option.

this is litterally stock grind pain, Im used to it.
I didnt expected for event vehicle to be super OP…litterally to me its only to help me have lineup at that BR so I can grind…
Also IMPO event or premium vehicles are not even CLOSE to vehicle from tech tree, like not even remotly close

I’m pretty shocked about this one.

It moves extremly slow. A slight slope and you barely do 20 km/h. It takes ages to even reach 50 km/h. Even on road?? Acceleration /Traction is meh. Not a single time I reached the 100 km/h top speed. Maps aren’t flat or big enough to reach that speed. At the end any Leopard 1 tank, Tam, Radkampf have far better mobility at lower BRs.

Its too big. Very hard to find cover and to blend into map’s landscape. So ambushing is not that easy to do.

Its too vulnerable. I’m dying to cal50 and rifle calibre MGs fired frontally. Every AA, Everything kills you from any direction. The amount of spall is crazy. The armor of that Boxer thing is really low. Super thin plates everywhere. But if KE penetrated, it spalls like a 2m thick nera array. Where is the “no armor is best armor” effect you have on most other light vehicles? Together with its huge size its a super suicidal combination. Spiced up with that ammo inside the turret rear, which always lights up if hit. And its always hit^^ Even low pen autocannons penetrate your turret front and light up the turret ammo.

The 105mm gun with 5 sec reload is ok. The LWS and the thermals are nice as well. But usefull just on big maps. Wich are rare. All this you have with the 10.3 TAM anyways. Which isn’t spalling that much and is much, much smaller with alot better mobility. Also no suicidal turret ammo storage/autoloader.

I will just spade this thing and foreget about it. Other vehicles of the same or lower BR are better.

Jesus…its just too big for the way most of the maps are designed. Its almost double as high as a MBT.

Radkamptwagen at 10.0 is alot faster, alot more mobile, less sluggisch. Also with 105mm gun. So…

I find this Vehicle to be fun to play. Although I have not spaded it yet. I’m not saying it’s a great vehicle. If fun is the most important metric this one is a blast!

It doesn’t help that my bug report on the engine got closed based on incorrect assumptions and information.

I got better matches, even, very few, better matches with Type 16 (P) with HEATFS compared to other few I had with the Boxer MGS. I doubt it will be more than 30GJN in the marketplace, at least for a long period of time.

The camo is made by Reinhmetal, the direct competitor of the Boxer manufacturer. It’s like having a BMW livery on a Mercedes…

Seriously Gaijin

It’s known the engine is incorrect but moderators refuse to accept valid sources, transmission gear ratio is probably as well, it should be able to reverse up very steep slopes.

The total weight of the MGS is also in question since they have specifically mentioned the turret module weighs around what 8 tonnes? Correct me if I’m wrong, but the base boxer drive module is 27.5 tonnes + mission module including the turret is 8 tonnes, the real weight is 35.5 tonnes which would make more sense for their claims it being an a2. So it should be just as fast as the villas.

Hence why I’ve been calling this a paper vehicle. Armor amap is wrong protection wise, the model is a remodeled vilkas chassis, it’s missing plates still as well. Theres no way you have a 38 tonne vehicle having less effective armor than a m1128.

I’ve already posted a lot of sources stating it’s 360 degrees protected by 14.5mm but still crickets. If you’re gonna give us a slow vehicle increase the armor or increase the speed and leave the armor.

You’ve already demonstrated to the player community again this year you have full intentions to release vehicles how you see them, not based on fact or fiction of information online from government sources.

But I still stand very firm that this vehicle is an A3. It’s only a matter of time the information becomes more detailed and gaijin and the moderators have to fold.

Even A3 prototypes demonstrating new installations of uprated suspension for the rch155 can be up armored for much more intense combat if necessary.
