Every frigate outside of SKR is both worthless and meaningless unless Gaijin fixes naval mode.
Maybe ‘soviet bias’ myth still lives and is kicking in [coastal-frigate] department. :/
That is why they made this boat as a 35k event, even though this one is a ‘top rank’ vehicle.

As a coastal enjoyer, IJN already has all it needs at those BR. Really not sure what Gaijin was thinking. I’m all for a naval event, but please give me a point of difference, otherwise it’s just not worth my time.

Flag has been removed from the event write-up now (it was from 1967, so yeah, they’d need permission).
The decal was probably saveable, as it was just a stylized Satsuma mon that goes back centuries. But it appears to be gone too, now two of the awards are just listed as “special decal”, so I’m sure they’re scrambling.
As with other times in the past organizations have complained about trademark, Gaijin just takes the asset away from players. Nothing else they can do really. It doesn’t really bother me, personally. It’s on Gaijin they never ask permission.

Oh, and I disagree with people thinking that naval event = gimme battleship hurr durr. We’ve had enough battleship events. Coastal is worth it, coastal is fun, coastal is worthy of an event vehicle. The issue is their choice of this event vehicle.

Garland isn’t a good comparison because of how it was given out.
The correct one is Alcione (link). Japan is more popular than Italy, and it’s at least as good a grinder, so I’d see this above 25 GJN in a year two. It’ll start around 10-12, but people will see the 2X possibility and snap it up pretty fast at that price. The trick, as always, with Marketplace is you have to wait a year after you earn it, then sell it.
Equivalent to this is Meteor. Which was 30k per stage/550k for coupon.
This is literally copypasted event Syonan with fantasy camo for 35k per stage and 600k for coupon for unknown reasons.

100%. That was a hard pass from me as well.
Statshark stats, RB, May (AB is the same):
Syonan outearns SKR-7 by 50% and has twice the K/D.
The problem here isn’t the boat, at its current BR it’s gonna slap things around just like Syonan does now. SKR was too highly tiered to be very effective going into June Bluewater decompression, we’ll see if it makes a comeback in the July stats.
Metas do change in this game. It’s like listening to people saying Moffett’s still a top earner (not even close atm). Just means they’re not currently active in that mode and BR.
