Pretty nice event, will it require parts to be fully spaded or will it be a premium?

35,000 every 2 days for a coastal vessel?
I sleep.
If it was 25,000 that’d be a different story, I’d at least endorse the event for others.

Dedicated naval players would have no issue I think. but it does seem a little too steep of a requirement

It’s an Event vehicle, not Premium.

Ah

There is no causal link between this ship and Kagoshima prefecture. Because the IJN Shisaka was built at Hitachi Zosen’s Sakurajima(桜島) works in ““Osaka””.

And, Sakurajima(櫻島) shipyard in Kagoshima prefecture is a very new shipyard, having commenced operations in 2017.

Also, the prefectural flag of Kagoshima Prefecture was designed in 1967.

So…it’s the SAME ship as Syonan
Armament, rewards multipliers, BR, everything is the same
Why would anyone want to grind it? Japan doesn’t even have some decent meme smol ships in shoreline branch

Spoiler

Even the camo itself is just a copy-paste

Totally worth to grind 600.000 mission points (incl the voucher) over several weeks :)

First the bp with that chn vehicle main prize… Now a c&p jp FRG for the ongoing vehicle event …

In principle, Kagoshima Prefecture prohibits the commercial use of the Kagoshima symbol.
Please remember that if you use it without permission, I, as a Japanese citizen, can report you to the Kagoshima Prefectural Government.

real?

Now this is some serious memes moment if Gaijin didn’t get the permission
Something tells me that they didn’t

Yep, he’s right. Sakurajima is the volcano outside the city of Kagoshima. The Sakurajima SHIPYARD, named after the mountain, where this Kaiboken class was built, is up in Osaka.

So we have a pic associating the boat with the mountain that its shipyard was named after, a writeup and event name referring to the city next to the mountain (“Naples of the East” = Kagoshima) and a flag and decal referring to the prefecture, too. But the boat itself never went near the mountain or city:

http://www.combinedfleet.com/Shisaka_t.htm

If they changed the name to Hiburi, you could at least say the boat and the mountain were in the same area and the pic was at least possible.

Of the nine Hiburi-class kaiboken that were completed, 6 went to Kure District, 1 (Shisaka) to Yokosuka District, 1 (Daito) immediately to the 1st Surface Escort Division, and the Hiburi itself to Sasebo. Sasebo had operational authority over Kagoshima Harbor during the war. Hiburi was there for all of 2 weeks before it was also sent to 1st Surface Escort Div (which worked out in the Pacific), but maybe on a workup it could have sailed past Kagoshima. (link)

The other reason to change the name is Shisaka went to the Chinese after the war for a long history, the only one of this class that did. Under Gaijin’s current rule of never putting two refits of the same exact boat in the tech tree twice, that means the Chinese coastals, when they finally come some day, won’t be able to have this boat.

Yeah I hope they didnt, dont soil the name Kagoshima like this.

Fun part here
Apparently Gaijin didn’t get any permission
Because the only answer they gave on russian forum is that only modern ones require such permission. Old ones don’t because they’re public domain

I’m actually shocked by this meager offer. Given that past event botes were top tier, I’d just naturally assumed off of the launch of Leviathan - a naval-heavy update of all things - we’d get a similar vehicle. I mean, you’d think they’d want to get some naval buzz going at this point. But this? I’m a naval fan and this has less than zero attraction. How mystifyingly inane. Guess it saves my grind time, but I’d gladly grind something nominally worth it. This ain’t it by a light year. Strange and wild.

This is disgusting copy paste.

So…what do we have after half a year without naval events in an update, named after best bluewater ships?
Full copy-paste coastal boat with copy-paste camo that has nothing in common with the boat itself. And it’s not even a premium.
Decal and the flag for the event also have nothing in common with the vehicle and are officially banned for commercial usage by the government of prefecture.
