Imagine if they chose the same reasoning to now also withhold the Leo 2PSO from us
The Boxer is used in Germany as well, its replacing the Wiesel
Heres to another 3 years of waiting!
Afaik they don’t use the ifv version. Only the apc version with a machine gun.
The Bundeswehr’s Wiesel weapon carrier will be replaced by the Boxer heavy weapon carrier and this will be armed with the same 30 mm cannon as the Puma infantry fighting vehicle and Mehrrollenfähiges leichtes Lenkflugkörper-System (Multirole-capable Light Missile System, MELLS), the Bundeswehr’s designation for Spike LR. The turret will also be equipped with a 360° vision system and warning and observation systems. The heavy weapon carrier will be the fifth version of the Boxer in service with the German Army and current planning calls for training to begin on the new heavy weapon carrier in 2025, with the first three infantry battalions to be equipped with the system by 2027. A contract for more than 100 Boxer CRVs was signed in March 2023[71]
boxer rct 30 is the ordered one
Only 3 if we are lucky and behave well
When the Abrams X and the T-14 have been in for a year, then the 2A7 baseline will come
Good to know.
The sole fact this thread exists extends that by additional 3 years.
Just kidding… or am I?
Anyhow, all the debacle and arguing we’ve done with the Italians (and the unfunny ones).
@Smin1080p Possible to break the silence, or are you on a break? (badumtss)
In any case would be lovely to hear from you in regards to the problem KF41 created, seeing as the solution is right around the corner (Australian KF41 cough cough).
but as it is the boxer variant will definitly just be a worse puma, maybe faster but without the protection, without indirect protection system, without the APS of the KF41, just a boxer with 30mm and spikes
not expecting a definite answer until monday
If at all
The fact that we had to wait 3 years for a sidegrade of an mbt an watch another nation getting a top tier ifv made in germany while we can’t even have spikes on the puma is ridiciulous
the spikes in their current form are bad, why do you want something that is known to be bad
Because its still better having bad missiles than no missiles at all
just wait for a fixed PUMA with spikes
How much longer now? One year? Two?
when they have dealt with the list of bug reports on the PUMA, it is a long list why would they add the same vehicle that is broke again and have to double check both in case any bugs slip through
Well then, why not add a vehicle that they are already adding to a different tech tree which seems less broken and was made by germany? The KF-41 is right there as an option to give Germany a competetive IFV to use at top tier
