German Naval Bismark

I never said they were doing a good job at it.

Seems like they designed their ships perfectly for war thunders overcompressed br and map system which emphasises RoF, Gun handling and turtleback armour schemes.

I dont think you understand what you just said, HMS Vangaurd is arguably the best ww2 era Battleship because when it was finished in 1946 it had taken every mistake from previous ships into account, it also had the best and most advanced technology, like range finders and gun mechanics. even tho its smaller this ship couldve beaten the iowa.

Not the vangaurd, people seem to think the vangaurd is on par with the bismarck but thats not the case, its a whole lot better. Vangaurd was more modern and advanced than any ship including the iowa and yamato, so if Gaijin makes it realistic the only ships that could sink it are those. IMO Vanguard was the greatest ship of ww2 even if it was finished in 1946.

Buddy, i think you misunderstood.

I never said anything bad about HMS Vanguard, i just mentioned it was the last British BB that went to service and it had short Service life because of that period.

My thoughts everytime i look at the pitiful AA compliment on even planned german ships…

H-39 is gonna get murdered by planes T^T

Vanguard was the most technologically advanced yes (Vanguards backup radar was Iowa’s main radar). Vanguard was also a fairly good design but in WT this will be different and Bismarck will likely beat her.

She has a thicker belt but its vertical however no turtleback behind this which ingame makes ships with TB impossible to ammorack or hit machinery. Though i believe KGV and Vanguard should have an armour modifier buff from and I have some secondary sources for this, its not reflected ingame and there are also equally contrary sources.

Her AA and systems are much much better than Bismarcks however she has worse guns (though if they penetrate she has a higher bursting charge), a worse reload rate and her armour is not as busted as Bismarcks.

But if you look at qualities that matter in WT, Bismarck has better penetration, better gun handling, better reload, and better armour/resistence to ammunition racking.

The point of the Vanguard class was to take old guns from the Courageous class and Revenge class and put them on a well established and more useful (faster more range etc) hull.

If they had had the 15"/45 or 15"/50 improvements that were suggested I’d give Vanguard a better chance.

yeah i get your point, its all up to gaijins team to make the ships at least semi realistic. Knowing gaijin they will just add a made up russian ship with the best armour and guns.

i could be wrong, but iirc, the Sovetsky Soyuz class was planning to circumvent the issue of the USSR not knowing wtf they were doing by having other nations build the components the soviets couldnt, such as the powerplant. I could be misremembering, but it seems they sorta learned from their mistake with the Kron and tried to do the same thing they pulled with the krons guns and ask someone else to make the stuff.

I say “sorta” learned from their mistakes cuz asking nations to build you a fleet of quasi super weapons you then plan to use against them is idiotic and clearly was never going to work, like it fell through with the Krons situation…

For propulsion they turned to the Swiss using some British techniques and innovations from Cammell Laird to achieve the desired 28 knots.

For armour plates they simply could not build a plate thick enough of well hardened quality. So they decided to use an external cemented plate of low face hardened added onto a plate of face-hardened armour. This simply put, is stupid.

The only ships to properly make use of a two-piece belt are the Italian Littorio class which have a complicated and debated Pugliese system which fills the the space between the two plates, we aren’t even sure if it works…

Don’t forget she got superchargers

I forgot that… whoops, yeah that might equalise her shells with Bismarck.

Link of the calculator ?

Interesting, nice to know the 15/42 was still actually a good gun in 1945.

Yes… HMS Hood was hit once by KMS Bismarck and exploded, sinking in 3 mins and killing all but 3 of her 1418 crew… Clearly they are equals. By this logic IJN Yamato must be added because the USA has Fletcher-class Destroyers and IJN Yamato sank the USS Johnston (DD-557).
Seriously though, I think you are going to need to wait until every other nation gets something at least as capable as KMS Scharnhorst before they even think about adding KMS Bismarck.

wdym i remember test driving bismarck it was in the game they removed it

Afaik its never been in the game ourside of perhaps a model that cannot be test driven.

Are you sure it was Bismarck and not something like Prinz Eugen which looks similar?
