German Helicopter Tech Tree - Current and Future Discussion Thread

Probably remove it, there isn’t really an early variant unless it came with just rocket pods.

I hope that gaijin adds at least 3 helicopters soon, because the German Tree urgently needs to fill the gap between 9.7 and 12.3, not to mention that Germany only has 7 helicopters (Allouete, UH-1D, Bo105, Mi24, Mi8, EC 665 Tiger Had and Tiger UHT) and the best helicopter was cloned in France with missiles that they never used, but that’s it, Otherwise, thank you very much for creating and detailing this tree.

if it was upto me, the P277 and the Bo115 wouldve also been added
but sadly gaijins standards are a bit different according to their claims of historicity

Honestly even without mockup vehicles there are still plenty of helis to add for Germany.

  • Bk 117
  • Bo 105 PAH-1A2
  • Cobra PAH-2
  • H135M
  • H145M LKH
  • Pre-PARS 3 LR Tiger
  • Mi-24D

Guess we need to give the USA their umpteenth helicopter though…

anything interessting 135 has to offer?
and is LHK different from the normal 145M?

LKH is just the Bundeswehr name for the H145M now that it has been accepted into service as the new anti-tank helicopter to replace the Tiger.

H135M gets x4 Ingwe ATGM, same as on the Superhind but a much better platform.

Did you see the new update? Russia and the US got new helicopters, the US even got a fire-and-forget one with much longer range and laser guidance capability, on top of that, the explosive amount on the PARS 3 missiles is less than half of what it is in real life, gaijin as always hates Germany.

Well. New missiles received China, Russia and US…

Ger heli tree is dead. No worthy additions after Tiger UHT (2019). Since 6 years nothing.

Edit: It also has to be said that helis became a total non factor. AA systems and jets are too strong. Right now best GRB top tier tactic is just to spawn ground units. Jets and helis costs incredibly high amounts of sp and are so damn easy to shot down. Also their BRs are too high. Tiger UHT is at 12.3 BR, so you’d have to up the BR of your whole lineup for this. Even if you manage to fire off all Pars3, you’ll usually get just two kills out of it. Is it worth it? No, throw it out of you lineup and enjoy playing 12.0 tanks.

Only exception the KH-38 carriers, but thats another topic.

I was already frustrated back then about my beloved KHT. By now, the whole situation just feels like pure mockery toward German helicopter players. It’s an absolute joke that the KHT sits at the same BR as the new toys of the Chinese, Russian, and American trees.
And the fact that they gave the LMUR proper top-down attack mechanics right at release just makes me sick.

There’s simply no reasonable explanation for this.

Hoping Gaijin pulls a Yak-141 here and gives us the paper and proposed variant of the KHT with the RMK-30 auto cannon and LFK-NG as its air-to-air weapon. Seeing as there is nothing left to add and the current state of the UHT is absolutely dire, it must either go down in BR because it doesn’t measure up to the newer helicopters at the same BR or have its PARS missiles buffed as compensation.

Hope, but it’s gaijin, historical when suitable for them and buffing UHT not in their plans

Maybe theyll rework the SP costs and BRs of the helis once ground decompression hits. The UHT would fit nicely as a cheaper CAS option for germany

With upgrades for chain gun and new missiles a2a this would be great heli.

I think with a sufficiently lowered sp cost compared to the new helis it would already be a nice budget CAS

Yeah, it’s probably the best next thing, that and a PARS buff would be quite alright.

Yeah top attack being modeled correctly is the absolute bare minimum now that we know Gaijin is capable of programming it

whats worse is that PARS cant even lock targets anymore. even since the “base lock range” was buffed to 20km

If I remember correctly this PARS missile need to be exposed in the game (the seeker need to see the target). While IRL you only need to pop up your optic to lock on to target. Same case with SPIKE. So there is no point to have optic above the rotor because at the end you need to exposed entire body (until PARS seeker can see the target clearly) to launch PARS 3 (and pray for kill).
