German 20mm HEI(minengeschoß) shells low damage compared to other 20mm guns

Yeah…

Fun fact, that’s not even a plywood plane. The damage is simply THAT dogshit.

I was lucky I landed some good shots on his tail, but about 5 shells to the left wing, most likely APi, APHE and 3 M-geschoss did nothing significant (I assume tail tanked similar amount before giving up and I missed with MK108).
5 Shvak shells to a wing of goddamn Do-335 would slap it out of the air in an instant.

I know this is 20mm topic, but look at this.
Yak-9K, shot from 200m with MK108 night belt, so all 30mm M-geschoss.
It actually exploded.
Look at the ABSOLUTELY DOGSHIT wing damage.
That’s 30mm, 330g, 90g of TNT equivalent going over 400m/s effective velocity (so a ton of added kinetic energy) doing nothing to a tiny fighter.
Stalin would be proud.

Hahahaha, I hit him TWICE in that wing actually.
And both exploded.
Why?
Because MK108 night belt has 0,001mm fuse sensitivity, it explodes every time, unlike most HE shells in game.

Now this is Yak-9K wing after 2 MK108 impacts, the wingtip one did absolutely jack fruit other than removing the aileron.

I guess he got bonus protection from na… …tional insignia.

Luckily 3rd hit was to the fuel tank and actually delivered some proper damage, our friend joined russian space program:

It was all 30mm as I spent my 20mm trying to kill Object 211.

Is anyone willing to tell me German cannons are working fine?

So protection analysis is basically lying?

When HE stopped working it only affected player controlled vehicles.

Which I joked about how there’s some hidden modifier that reduces damage and they accidentally set it to max, so now HE rounds wouldn’t damage players anymore but spark instead. 😏

It’s lying and it’s lying hard.
And it’s not lag. The angles don’t add up, really.
Here is Bf 109 F4 vs 37mm M-geschoss, 100m, then point blank (really).
Eventually I hit him from further away in the wingtip which…

…damages only the wingtip and literally nothing else.

EDIT: Video for the fans:

So 3x37mm and guess what? His plane was still flying fine till my teammate shot him down. All I got was an assist. He should have been a goner after the 1st shot.

Point is - playing Ostwind to shoot down planes is a huge mistake as 20mm vehicles deal the same damage per shot.

The other point is - maybe the explosion itself deals no damage right now, and all we see is damage from fragments? Hence MK108 or 3x20mm M-geschoss dealing low damage to large area, as they have the good old pre real sh*tter damage with tons of fragments?

Had similar stuff happen to me in the past, where CW-21 casually tanked 2x37mm M-geschoss and also only received some absolutely dogshit damage.

I told you that PA wasn’t accurate this one time.
It’s not happening to German cannons exclusively, but the outcome with them is by far the worst.

It feels like everything has an extra invisible layer of armor. Sometimes we get to see the explosions, you see the damaged wing but it’s only visual, it was not registered at all.

Surely it’s getting fixed next update… right?

It was accurate for a while. I was generally able to duplicate in-game shots.
It’s not the case for quite some time.

That’s because community is pretty damn dumb.

I remember how many years ago I was making topics about game breaking bugs (like the good old “20mm M-geschoss not fusing on Soviet aircraft” and I was getting 0 responses.

Nowadays there’s a few guys who actually care (Killa, Ghost, Red, Kaiser and few others but less frequent participants), but outside of this small group?
You’d think people would see Yak-9K tanking 2 30mm with a wing or Bf 109 tanking 3 37mm M-geschoss or CW21 tanking 2 and be outraged, because in online shooters weapon consistency is CRITICAL.
In WT?
Naaah, who cares.
Devs have the same attitude, they don’t really even read bug reports, hence the accidental removal of tracer from 50mm 262’s air belt.
Or the fact severe damage still doesn’t count elevator damage as severe, but black stabiliser is severe, despite black stabiliser being absolutely insignificant compared to loss of elevator. They had like a year to fix it.
Maybe more, can’t even tell.
What did they do?
Absolutely nothing.

Are people outraged? Nah, content creators get “surprised” by it (despite there being no surprise at all, the mechanics of this bug are very simple) and fans accepted it as a part of their miserable lives.
