It seems for me like a loosely made model on a $50 paid tank. Shame.
I’m fully aware that they are not the same ammunition, which i did mention, i just used it for the penetration value to show that penetration is possible there with the same penetration values as the 37mm APHE has.

Do you remember the latency you were playing with at that moment? just a couple of days ago i had a similar (no autocannon though) occurence. Having NA servers turned on because of finding matches for naval ec quicker over the weekend where ping doesnt matter together with my local EU servers i forgot to switch them off. And got almost instantly punished while playing ground.
I got penned in my T-29 while angled at something like 40 to 45 degrees straight through the upper front plate and oneshot by a panther a (or g) with its aphe round. After checking in armor viewer that should produce something like 330 to 360 mm of armor equivalent and theres absolutely 0 chances for the panthers aphe to go through your thickest armored area of the tank thats further more angled at 40 degrees sideways. Checking bottom left i realized i was playing with more than 100 ms latency probably on us servers (30 to 40 ms are normal on the eu servers) and that i should have switched us server queueing off. For my part that death was clearly attributed to the ping more than anything. theres no overlapping plates or volumetric bimbam going on at the t29s ufp and despite the mg port (which the shot impact was far away from) theres nothing that ever produced anything similar in that area of the tank for me. Funnily enough the post game damage simulation of all received and dealt shells showed the round impacting and nonpenning the ufp. While in game -even with the panthers quite low tnt filler- that was clearly not the case because i got literally evaporated.
Now I’m not saying that thats something that should be normal, because im sure it sucks for people playing from plces where they usually have much higher ping, its just that what happened in my case is most likely caused by local to server to local interaction and the server still registering the shell when it actually should have already impacted and nonpenned the armor. And something similar might have happened to you.

I’m aware of the bugs, flawed gameplay mechanics, and hidden nerfs, thank you. We all know how many flaws there are in this still-raw “free-to-play” game. Unobvious situations happen too often to be upset, but this is something out of the ordinary. It’s funny to learn that the gaijin developers, for some reason, believes that a heavy assault tank can be penetrated infront by random hit of an anti-aircraft gun bullet.
Well if it wasnt the ping then id say you just got gaijinned. Happens millions of times a day. I mean they also modelled it so one 35 mm API-T round into the cupola of a m48 instantly nukes the entire crew for years now. And the moment they tried to rework how the aphe nuke rounds work half the community went nuts instead of even testing it first. But maybe thats just me. Weird stuff happens in this game all the time. Not worth going mad about it. Acknowledge that gaijin doesnt care, so why should u?

Can someone check what kind of armor does it have at the point of impact? I don’t have a model on my client, so I can’t check. Could the shell have ricocheted at all? Is stuff like “Three-caliber rule” or something here?

this was the biggest mistake every this change should been implemented because it’s more realistic and would helped a lot of tanks but it was ruined :(
It would balance things out more.
A foch for example ahould not be able to die to an APHE penetrating the commander rangefinder cupola.
game broken, 37mm APHE deals more splash damage than 183mm HESH, devs think its okay.
Flakpanzer can easily kill IS-3, IS-4, and IS-6 because they all have the same weaknesses around the driver port. Given the sustained rate of fire of the 341, eventually you’ll find that weak spot. Out of all those IS series tanks, I find the IS-2 to be the hardest to nuke, funnily enough. IS-3 is by far the easiest.

Nope. A tanks armour is not universal. Flakpanzer 341 is the best tank at that BR (better than T-29, better than IS-4, better than your silly Somuas) because it can fire virtually unlimited 80mm+ APHE nukes that will find their way into any part of your tank that doesn’t live up to the vehicles statcard. Drivers ports, cupolas, machine gun ports, view ports. Things that wouldn’t be spammed at IRL but can be in WT.
T-95’s cupola is a prime example:
In fact, that first T-95 survived way more than normal. Usually the whole thing implodes in a few seconds.
Just keep believe that it was intended to be this way. This game definitely isn’t a garbage dump of bugs and imbalances.
Cool? Never said bugs don’t exist. That has nothing to do with the IS-6 having weakspots on its frontal armour that can be exploited in the unrealistic scenarios that occur in War Thunder.
Well, it WAS. If its bug, its either fixed fast or doesnt happen regularly. Gaijin did make that mechanic that way and believes its okay. If thy didnt, thy wouldnt keep it that way for at the very least a year now
