No. Smoke mortars were completely removed from all American tanks by 1946. The original order for their removal was given in 1945, but it wasn’t strictly adhered to by all tank crews so it took until tanks were refurbished en masse in 1946 for the removals to be completed.

The tank in that image still has the antenna mount. It just doesn’t have the antenna, or the camera was just too poor to actually capture the antenna in the photograph. It’s subtle, but you can tell it isn’t the smoke mortar aperture due to the slight curve on the inner side of it. The “clutter” at the top of it is also the base of the antenna; it can’t be anything else since there is nothing behind it. The spotlight was also removed en masse from American tanks during the 1946 refurbishments or earlier.

Can someone tell me one single reason why type 87 rcv are 9.0 with garbage base, no armor and no stabiliser?

Speed.

Imho Type 87 RCV is actually really good, but only with APFSDS unlocked.

Stock grind was one of the worst experiences I had in JP TT. For some reason you get stock 1x APDS 2x HE that does little to no damage and, for some reason, full APDS belt is Rank III and not I or II

I would honestly prefer the Type 87 over the BTR 3E1
No stabiliser is not an issue when the gunner can just turn the turret super quickly.
Paired with its fast fire rate and anything in front of the barrel will get hurt.
Oh yeah, is the Type 89 worth getting? I did a test drive with it and it seems ass with 34 rounds that have to be loaded individually.

A good machine. It’s worth the time spent.

However, I’d probably like to drop it to a Battle Rating of 8.7. Or bring back the APHE shell.

That gun does damage and the missile for is a damn good stinger if you ever get to use it. The issue though is largely its survivability and whatever the hell is going on with its reload of ammo. Where it has a box of ammo in the breach, a chain running down the middle of it and reloads one round at a time.

yeah its worth it, the apds is actually not bad and the Type 79 ASM has top attack capabilities, if you see a light tank behind cover it actually can obliterate them, it used to be way better though and it was the reason I have an 89 on my username

Since when? Or you meant HE capability to destroy roof?

Yup, the HE version of the missile is top attack missile that quite hard to aim

I think its more or less meant to go after infantry with that one if there was a trench or something.

Not sure but from the name can see it meant to target light boat like what North Korean use

Translator!
Has anyone else encountered this bug?

My ammo rack got hit in the TKX(P), triggering the replenishment of the ready rack, and after that, the gun got stuck in an infinite reload loop.

YAY! Thanks!

I have not yet experienced this. Don’t really wanna play top tier without an effective SAM for Japan. Not being able to deal with helis is frustrating without the proper counters. Every nation so far can deal with helicopters with SACLOS, HE-VT with tracker and Spike missiles.

You could try filing a bug report… 10-20mm RHA or composite…

The best heli counter is the Type 10 with the Type 10 APFSDS. Since they added the IR tracker, it’s so easy to shoot them down.

Done it a few times, however, its not as easy as some players start moving none stop wasting my ammo. Need a direct hit on them and holding still/lucky shot. Fortunately, Malaysia has a Rapier and Thailand a Starstreak which can be added soon, hopefully. I’d be contempt with either one. Prefer the Chu-MPM as it can do both helis and tanks. Right now, Type 16,90,10, 24, 25 isn’t consistent enough for me. If Japan made HE-VT rounds for them, would be great and have zero issues.
