The don’t, there’s not even a rail there lmao
it’s just a display thing if I had to guess
They don’t. These are decommissioned (T)AV-8S’. Likely there just because it looks funny. None of these aircraft have a radar or are capable of using the AIM-120.
Oh my god
Did he post the full document?
Type 89 2026?
Indonesia seems to love there light IFVs more then tanks. Makes sense light IFVs tend to be easier to fix and maintain also I have never seen a full true MBT that can swim. Too heavy and would be too big if someone ever tried. An Indonesia ground sub tree would have the IFVs Japan kind of needs.
It is not Type 89 but yes it is new IFV
Is it built or just a thought experiment?
Mostly only drawnings and we will see vehicle in period 0.2-2 years
I think they can continue using Type 89 like car industry marketing: NEXT GENERATION OF TYPE 89!!!
Just give it new Type ## name and it would be enough
I don’t trust Japanese when they naming their weapon (classic example: Type 97) but I trust them when they naming car.
Type 89 number 2
Type 89 Next Gen
The weight is a problem sure but take a look at videos like this. The Leopard is practically touching the house walls. The roads especially in heavy urban areas just isnt wide enough at places unfortunately. Even on some jungle roads you can only march single file, easy targets for Drones, artillery, etc.

Bruh M1 moment
Type system is easy just need to use full names ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
The gun existed so good enough. Would make a nice 6.0 TD. Watch as they add a Thai m109 instead.
I feel the change was unnecessary in the first place. It’s fine at 5.0 for a tank with the decent gun, armor and mobility. To say it’s equal to something like the tiger or t-34-85 is ridiculous. You’re gonna have to play a intended heavy tank like a light tank. The uptiers to 6.7 are going to be so sad. Just why. It didn’t have a line-up before, now it’s just something you would never play.
Shouldn’t be surprised though. This isn’t the first time Japan has to pay another mandatory BR toll. Both ho-ris, type90, chi-to, chi-nu, r2y2s, kikka. Now this. How fun.
