It is not so because CTWV project made to replace whiled vehicles in JSDF and there wasn’t news that it will replace truck vehicles.
Is Tan-SAM kai ever getting a fix or what? Not to mention BR decompression. Thing was put into service in 1995, meanwhile IRIS-T SLM was put into service in 2024, SAMP/T in 2011, Buk-M3 in 2016, yet Gaijin somehow thinks they are equally as effective. Holy fucking shit bro.
The CTWV is already actively replacing both wheeled and tracked vehicles. The Type 24 WFV is replacing the tracked Type 89 FV and the Type 24 MSP (or WMSP?) is replacing the tracked Type 96 MSB. The CTTV hasn’t had any new developments in years.
Research on modernizing armored vehicles was submitted in 2023, and funding was secured in 2024. This research is scheduled to continue until 2027.
Since this research is said to be adaptable to both tracked and wheeled vehicles, it is still too early to conclude that the Type 89 is being replaced.

It is not true because at the moment we doesn’t have information approving this
I want Chu-SAM Kai , TAN-SAM kai is terrible. Gaijin never thought about doing it well.
Chu-SAM Kai wouldn’t be much better. More range, yes, but still a fairly slow missile, which in combination with the ARH seeker would in WT mean a very easy to dodge missile.
Thankfully Singapore has SAMP/T

I still want the Chu-Sam because it looks so cool
Does Chu-sam have terminal infrared locking?
It has only ARH seeker
doesnt the tansam kai have tws fast scan (due to being an aesa radar) but its not reflected ingame?
What do you mean?
Tan-SAM Kai main radar is PESA
Basically, the Type 89 is deployed with the 11th Infantry Regiment, but since no vehicle replacements have been observed so far, I don’t think the 24 WFV should be called its successor. Rather, because it is expected to operate alongside the Type 90, I doubt it will be replaced by a wheeled vehicle unless there’s a major failure. It’s the same with the Type 96.
does it scan relatively fast for targets? in WT it seems pretty slow to find things
Rotating speed is 10 rpm in IRL as in game
Cool. I didn’t think here is so good 7th division structure scheme!
If the Type 03 Chu-Sam Kai gets to focus the radar at the target (same feature that Type 81 Tan Sam Kai should have) then the DL updates would make it hard to avoid. Yes you can multipath but the biggest issue right now for Type 81 is the range. Right now I can’t do anything about a space climbing F-16 at 20+ km away who is going to drop their bombs and missiles before they get close enough for me to retaliate. At least with the Type 03 they’ll realistically get hit if they don’t avoid it as you can send multiple staggered ARH missiles their way as deterrence (and in theory can’t notch it as DL will would still update).
So in that regard the Type 03 would be a vast improvement.
Why would they replaced the Type 89? I know part of the reason is keep the military industry alive, but tbh those vehicle is still in the good shape isn’t it? And is there any possibility that those vehicle will give to (or sell) ASEAN country (I heard the law had changed, so arms deal is possibly right now?)?
Ooooo I see thanks for the correction!
But it is for Tan-SAM Kai which was mentioned in question
Chu-SAM has 45rpm rotating
