Hense why I said “OPTIONAL”

also Zuni’s seem to act very nicely against IR missiles

The chaff would at least allow the F-1 to climb freely, which can help a lot in avoiding IR missiles. Though considering one chaff pod takes away a potential missile it’s probably be enough to take one chaff pod and three missiles.

F-1 has a pretty large kit which can help for deflecting,

E.g. Zunis to counter IR’s, and Chaff pod’s to deflect Radar missiles

I submitted a proposal for an F-1 equipped with 9L as F-1(Late) but it is not shown in the forum:(

10.7 sound too high, but also 10.3 would be too op

10.3 if they are nice

10.7 if they are mean

I’m going to laugh if Gaijin somehow finds a justification to not add F-2 next update
“F-2 is too OP, just ignore the Rafale with AESA radar from late 2010s in the game rn”

afaik it wasnt even trialed by the XM246 but a test bed specifically made by oerlikon according to some documents, i even discussed with some members to see if they could find info about it and it only mentioned a test bed before the XM246 was even considered since dates dont line up, specially since first model of the XM246 was build in 1982, while the ammo was tested from 1978 to 1981 wich according to US mentions was tested in a testbed turret that was just a simple turret system

Also Gaijin I think you need to watch this, Type 89’s atgm ingame fires wrong :)

“F-2 is too OP”

Gaijin: yea makes sense

By Gaijin’s standards via things like the Yak-141 and Maus’s 128/88 sabot, still enough to make it ingame :P

XM246 version (Late) foldered under the early one would certainly be neat to see.

Anyways, wrong thread for that, so I’m going to question why on earth the F-2 has been delayed so much to make up for it. Surely they’re not waiting to implement AAM-5B and the like?!

ik its gaijin double standards but i really dont agree with adding it just to make up for the other fake stuff being added, you dont solve a bad thing by doubling it with another bad thing

The problem with that line of thinking is it just results in preliminary/semi-fictional stuff for certain countries being upheld while others get to keep their “high ground” for what little that is worth :(

Is there any information out there on if any of the japanese MBTs use VT-fuse shells or any other airburst shells? Or maybe if the Thai MBTs have those?

Here isn’t any VT-fuse or airburst round for MBT
The only ammo used is JM33, Type 10, JM12 HEAT and Type 00 practice round

Well, I know that the VT-4 and VN16 that Thailand operates have the same guns as vehicles already in-game (VT4A1, ZTL-11), that can in fact use HE-VT. Not sure about the T-84 but since it uses a 125mm gun the shells would have to be of equal caliber, of which I’m not sure the Soviets ever fielded an HE-VT shell of that size.

The Russians have a timed-fuze shell, the 3OF26, but whether Ukraine or Thailand have access to those, I do not know. One thing is being able to load those, which they probably could, the other thing is being fitted with a FCS that can set the desired time.

Same goes for the Japanese MBTs - the Type 90 uses the same gun found on German Leopard 2s and therefore could load the DM11, and the Type 10 is said to be able to load all NATO standard ammunition - but being able to set the time on the fuze is a whole other thing.
