If only they can put this on their heli
Sad, but they closed it pretty quick
Sad, it was closed as “not a bug”
Maybe submitting the thermal imager report by itself would at least have the devs consider giving better thermals to the Type 74G
No because here isn’t any information what mean “better resolution”
In game the thermal quality is depended on generation of thermal and another screen inside tank won’t change the generation of it
So report with information “there were better resolution” is useless because doesn’t say what changed
And it is only 1 secondary source when 2 needed
It states that the thermals on the 74G has “clearer image quality”, not “better resolution”, so what that means is vague, but it could point at the thermals are of higher quality/better generation/etc
So again, very vague but not specifically “better resolution”
and another thermal screen for the commander is besides the suggestion I was addressing, I was suggesting that submitting the blurb about better image quality might be something the devs might look into for improving the thermals ingame, supplanted by more sources of course
While here isn’t any information what is different from Type 90 and Type 89 this information will be useless for game changing.
I wasn’t addressing this to in answer for you
Here is the rule in game that tank gun thermal quality is depended only on thermal generation IRL. Even if 2 thermals is different at quality but both 1 generation it will be 1 generation in game
sure, but you addressed it in context of the report we were discussing:
right, thermal quality in the game depends on THERMAL GENERATION and you stated another screen won’t change that, which I agree… but that’s besides the point
but like I said, the actual quote is vague, with the source stating “clearer image quality”:
which can mean anything until more sources are dug up, but probably worth looking into and seeing if there’s a chance the devs would consider improving the 74G down the line.
Keep in mind, while the official word is 2 good sources, I’ve seen features/capabilities being implemented ingame for less… (and conversely suggestions being blocked despite overwhelming evidence) especially so for classified vehicles with little to no information available
The report was closed because the commander’s thermal sight is the same as the gunner’s—fine, but what about when the commander overrides the gunner’s controls and operates the main gun from his perspective? Currently, he cannot use the thermal sight that he does have access to and is instead limited to NVD. This makes the closure of the bug report unreasonable.
As for the thermal resolution issue, it was rejected on the basis that the book did not specify the exact resolution and was considered only a secondary source. However, what source did the developers use to confirm that the in-game thermal sight is already accurate?
I think the thought process is if you activate commander override IRL, you basically lock and slave the gun to the gunner sight which… basically becomes your gunner sight from gunner view hence why the report was rejected, which I can kinda understand because being able to see from the top of the cupola with thermals would make no sense, and if you slaved/overrided the sight, then your POV would be from the gunner sight anyways. At least that’s how I interpreted the rejection.
But yeah, the thermals resolution issue makes it clear that the 74G has a better device, so it really boils down to Gaijin’s internal source (which 99% of the time is the same thing that we can get our hands on or straight up made up) vs the new source that states it’s better, and if they can improve it.
You’re telling me another game got this correct? That’s insane

Here’s a post I created with a suggestion as to how fo fix the armor in game for the type 10
Are there any plans on improving Japan’s 105mm apdfds.
残念ながらありませんが
新しい105mm砲弾を開発中だそうです。
You mean no improvement on old apdfds, but they are inventing a new one
Frontal difference between an improved Type 74 (G) and a regular Type 74.
An interesting fact: According to All About the JGSDF Type 74 Tank (陸上自衛隊74式戦車のすべて), if the Type 74 (G) had reached mass production, it could have been redesignated as the Type 93, reflecting the year it was introduced.

Last I checked Daikin was supposed to conduct research on “Improving the power of the Type 93 105mm APFSDS”
