I wonder if they’d do starter packs for subtree nations (maybe with reworked subtrees)
For Thailand I could see a pack with maybe a Ki-43-II, maybe using a similar camo to this one that’s on the marketplace for the Japanese Ki-43-III already. Would be nice to see it on the historical plane for it.
(As far as I know there was no Thai Ki-43-III)
The only issue is what tank to pick, since I can’t really think of any easy to use ~2.3 tanks that Thailand would have. The Chaffee is a bit too high while something like a Ha-Go would be hopelessly outmatched at that BR. Maybe the M3 halftrack mounted with a 57mm naval cannon could work, but it’s also a one-off thing that might be difficult with the starter pack formula of “tech tree vehicle with unique camo”.
But they could also easily go for lower BR options, where it’s also more convenient to pick a tank. For example a pack with a Ki-36 and M8 would be a decent starting point for a beginner, even if I feel like a Rank II pack will be more useful.
Is there a reason for the wood? Curious as to why they did that for the M60 as well
I’ve no clue. Maybe it provides some protection against shoulder weapons?
I dont think VT-4 will be locked away forever, i just think it would be bad timing to add it now given tensions. So i don’t think Finland is a valid comparison, besides that nation has already had quite a few of its more important vehicles ripped away and given to other nations making only a small selection of its available vehicles a good addition. It could be replaced by literally any other subtree and be better than the slop it is now. I think given Thailand doesnt have any vehicles on other nations aside from Japan we stand a good chance of getting the VT-4 eventually.
I’ve got good and bad news; the good news is that I’ve been able to find out a little more about the K1A1 proposed to Thailand back in 2009 / 2016.
The bad news; besides that the proposal for the new K1A1-TH never went beyond paper (which we - JP / ASEAN / SK Research Server - won’t share), it seems that it failed against the VT-4 only cause of too many American components;
These would have required ITAR restrictions lifted for export, which was probably considered impossible from Thailand’s perspective, perhaps due to time constraints and bureaucracy.
Whether Thailand ever actually tested the base K1A1 (or other variants) is still up to more research.
Id guess more HMG or artillery shrapnel for the Scorp. Unless there’s decent spacing the wood will do nout to an HEAT projectile except trigger it “early” against the wood, but it might add enough to the side to protect against fragmentation and .50cals

Apparently the RTMC owned five Type 69s but then are replaced by VN-16 in 2020.

I don’t really understand why you would want main line equipment to be premium just because “its rushed” they model all of these vehicles in advance to updates and that’s no excuse to make you have to pay for a common vehicle. Those nations could also be potentially added in the future.
There was some talk before the pzh2000 released that it was going to be a premium, but it was “thankfully” the Hungarian one. What a load of bull “thankfully.” Why doesn’t gaijin just start putting other main line equipment as premiums? How about the East German t-72 or t-80bvm?
This practice is just sad. How much effort would it take to just plaster a skin on a vehicle, call it (tank batallion (number)) and make it a premium instead of locking it away permanently to anyone unwilling to pay? Can’t even say much because they’re making plenty of these vehicles now with the packs that have unique models at that.
Absolutely no thought given to players that want to play their own nations or have a line-up with them. This is why nation folders will probably never happen. They don’t care and it’s unfortunate you and plenty of others are fine with that.

Thought maybe someone might know it here - Is the “Stingray” identical to the “Commando Stingray” operated by Thailand?
In the devblog they wrote that it’s going to have -10° of gun-depression, however that value contradicts the stingray’s brochure, which states -7.5°…
I’ve also found an ad in Jane’s Armour And Artillery [p20 - 1985/86, 6th ed.] on the “Commando-Stingray”, which uses the same graphic as the “Stingray” brochure…
I know it’s from Jane’s and their information isnt generally considered as source anymore, however this isnt one of their entries but a cadillac gage advertisement, so aslong as QA actually reads the report, it should be usable.
So I assume they’re the same and thus the gun-depression should be -7.5°, right? Or does the Thai stingray differ in that regard?

Thai military manual also says it has a gun depression of -7.5 degrees. (not sure if the book is classified so i won’t post here lol)
