DSEI Japan 2025 starts today!

Outside of the 10kW anti-drone mobile laser we’ve already seen, nothing else has popped up yet I don’t believe, so hopefully I’ll see more when I wake up.

Hope we see some new army vehicles or changes to the type 10

Ah yes japans next gen mbt thst uses railguns

Type 10 ik is being trailed to be fitted with APS

however idk which is picked

but first gaijin needs to fix the damn problems with the ones we already have (idk why they havent its stupid)

very likely to be rheinmetall’s strikeshield cuz other 2 have been having issues with overly expensive export and not wanting japan to produce them under license unlike strikeshield

you never know, maybe could even lease the manual to produce their own (imagine japanese own made APS that’ll be spicy)

doubt, rn they really need the aps and they dont have time to produce their own, that’s the main reason this project its still going on

Unfortunately I haven’t seen much at all yet, really just the Type 19 and Type 12 as far as combat vehicles go. Even in the multiple overhead shots I fail to find any new vehicles, so I guess there won’t be anything signifigant after all.

Apparently some UGV based on the 89FV was shown there.

Was just about to post that lol, did you see the Japanese-produced AMV as well?

Compared to the Patria-produced vehicle it at least gets smoke grenades, and maybe we’ll see it with more advanced systems further down the line.

That looks way too small, even for the average Japanese soldier

I mean, it might be a matter of perspective, the AMV is actually around a foot taller than the Type 96.

Spoiler

The Patria is also a little bit wider than the WAPC, but you may not notice because the walls are taken up by interior storage, so it can be a bit tight on the horizontal plane.

They are training giant hornets as shock troops maybe

Type 89 could receive its modernisation. That being it now uses Type 01 LMAT instead of the Type 79 as the stockpile for the 79 has basically ran out entirely

I have read nothing about them doing such a thing. Gonna need a source on that buddy.

Still waiting on that M163 TVADS which would actually fix a literal hole in the tech tree 🫠🫠
