I wonder what kind of armor it is? On the nose UFP.

Also it does look sleeker, but now it kinda just looks like a CV90 chassis 🥲

Now that looks really interesting!

Has much information been found for it?

I had a brief look but couldn’t find much, only 4 potato photos.

The Type 56 SY and Type 74 aren’t limited to US ammo. They can both fire the indigenous Type 74 HE round with more filler and velocity, and the ability to use a proximity fuse. This makes them a bit more standout.

Interesting, I’d imagine the Type 56 was too old to use either of these shells though, despite their compatibility with the 105mm M2A1.

I am also interested in this proximity fuzed variant, most particularly the trigger radius.

is this prototype of type 16 has unmanned turret or it just a better looking type 16?

The turret is still manned, hence the crewmates poking out of the top. This specific Type 16 is prototype No.5, a practical test vehicle intended to act as a testbed for various modifications and upgrades. This is also why it’s the only Type 16 to mount the RWS you can see in the photo.

I’m pretty sure this might actually be legitimate. There are other older photos of Chi-Ha kai’s with the Chi-He’s applique armor. Iirc, the turret ring diameters is one of the few things that changed between the turrets of the two, so its not a turret swap. This could work as a modification for the Chi-Ha Kai.
It does kinda need it. Its pretty annoying having the gunner killed by 20mm autocannons.

Is the RWS just a .50 cal?

.50 or 40mm Type 96

Yeah, I want Ka-Chi so bad. Tho its only 25% chance. I hate it. Why cant they make it choise if one is buying battlepass only for that very reason? So unfair gaijin.

Sadly even german 15mm AA can pen Chi-Ha kai from front. I really dont see why they put it at 2.3 br.

Type 91 Heavy, the Ro-Go lost brother could be cool to have as researchable vehicle.

My theory is that it is for reloading/access to the turret

Sorry for necroposting, but I thought I’d point out that there are some significant differences between this schematic and the vehicle in real life, which is why I couldn’t really use it in the bug report. The hatches/panels on the top of the turret in the diagram don’t correspond to the real vehicle.

For example, just from the side, you can see the differences between schematic and reality.
If we go left to right, we see:

  1. The drawing has Type 16-style LFP armor. The real vehicle has flat composite panels instead.
  2. There is a step between the UFP and infantry compartment on the real vehicle. In the drawing, it’s smooth.
  3. The positions of smoke grenades and LWS are different.
  4. The real vehicle has what appears to be an AC unit, the drawing does not.

Chi-Ri’s tray loader is getting some attention on the subreddit. Looks like they made 2 unsourced bug reports. Anybody have actual sources for this?

One of the reports already got closed.

I’m pretty sure it’s been bug-reported before right? But maybe we can push for something now that is properly sourced (copium)
