Does anybody have more info on Domestic Japanese Guided Torpedoes such as this Experimental Type 54 Torpedo Model 3 (G-4) / 試製54式魚雷3型 (G-4) from the JDS Wakaba proposal?

Found info about it on this site: Post-World War II Torpedoes of Japan - NavWeaps

Problem is that it also listed a bunch more with no info on them such as the Type 73, Type 93, and Type 12 Torpedoes. Also I wonder why Japan switched to using American Mark 37 Torpedoes when they already have a domestic torpedo only to then switch to using domestic designs?

Ingame on the PT-808, JDS Isuzu and JDS Ayanami.

Do they have acoustic homing in game? I dont think they do and just act like regular torpedoes. IIRC there is an unguided version for the torpedo but I think it was only used for Torpedo Boats.

Aside from that one website, I literally cannot find any other source even the ones in the Japanese wiki that they do cite as a reference. I cant understand Japanese nor is the magazine available in digital copy.

No torpedo ingame has that functionality enabled at present. So this one is at least not worse off in representation of available capabilities than is otherwise normal for the time being.

@LtCol-RedFox the low-poly cruiser in the Peleliu testflight is IJN Nagara:

I’m guessing you shadow reddit as well or someone mentioned it? Either way thanks for confirmation on the old low poly warship classification.

A surprise we don’t have a pre AA cruiser conversation Nagara class but I guess the Kuma & Sendai classes fill that role.

Side thought,
Any guesses on Erebus’s thoughts of the destroyer follow up behind? As Bleedinguranium & Maximpizdic believe it to be a Shiratsuyu or Hatsuharu.

Perhaps slightly off topic, but this is technically both Naval and Japan related :D

Finally some worthy 5.7 heavy cruiser as IJN Furutaka and IJN Aoba are never worthy for 5.7

is there a noticeable difference?

There’s no way it feels way too small for this.
But my sense of scale might be off

It’s about ten times smaller, yes.

While we’re here, the city in the Golden Week artwork a few months back is Yokohama.

Even with changed underwater shell mechanism, weak turret still makes IJN Mutsu suffer.
We really have to get IJN Mutsu(1943) instead of current IJN Mutsu. We could wait for more times.

Actual bias (or laziness) example for real this time. She isn’t just a slight upgrade to Mutsu, but also has a fantasy seaplane AND turrets.

Has anyone else caught any other issues with Amagi or are those it? Those AA gun positions don’t seem correct, but I don’t actually have anything that says they were 100% going to be anywhere else.

as far as I know, the smokestacks are incorrect. What’s wrong with the turrets?

Ive seen both drawings and models of amagi with a floatplane and I don’t see anything really odd about the turrets it has
