fun fact I’ve tried to simulate drone attacks on the M1A2 with APS with my scout drone and it the APS do shoot you down, so this fiture is actually already in-game :D

Now we need birds to accidentally trigger the APS!

never existed

Then type 90 and type 10 mix

the gun did.
Although even if Gaijin adds the Type-90 with 135mm it still be a tank with Gen 1 thermals and overall expected weight of around 55t - 58t.

tbh would still be a cool addition for Japan if Gaijin decides to go full retro Heavy caliber MBT update type of thing.

I have a couple of images I came across of something being loaded on to the P-1
anyone could identify what this missile is?

Not sure exactly, but looks like it might be a pod for a towed aerial target, or an IR plume generator for air combat training

THe STC prototypes where bench for the test of mutliples calibers.
STC-1 and STC-2 where firstly mounted with a 135 smoothbore barrel by Daikin Industries, then replaced by L/44’s. both STC are complete different tank than the Type-90; I really want to see them in-game.

The 135mm was not made during the STC or Type 90 development but after instead during the Type 10s development you can see Tanuki (who is very knowledgeable about Japanese equipment) mentioning this.

It would look something more like this

They were actually not. 135mm was never mounted on prototypes

It’s just what I saw in the suggestion, but it would be fun to have it in WT.
Anyone have any information about the 135mm from Daikin ?
It is almost undocumented but the interview of Kaneki Masanory who worked on that in a japanese denfense tech mag in March 2010.
all I could find is that an AP (probably APFSDS) was shot and the muzzle velocity was 2000m/s.
Only thing I’ve found :

But why?

The 135mm was only a research gun and never intended to be, or mounted to, any vehicle. There was an article in a japanese magazine that provided the testimony of one of the engineers involved, but the TL,DR is that like with many other japanese military projects, it was a “IF we did this, what kind of results would we get?” instead of something intended to enter service.

Is there hope in getting the TT type 24 not to be blown up every time the ammo in the turret is hit?

I dont think the squadron Type 24 should be more survivable hulldown with a crewed turret.

No, the T-2 already isnt the best jet at 9.7 with aim 9Ps
Let us Japan mains have some fun at jet tier for once

Looks like some sort of cruise missile

Thats a beautiful skin
