@CollectorOfSins I’m not sure unfortunately if the ID should work in TWS, none of the sources I’ve seen state that. I can however say that the NCTR ingame is not nearly as detailed as it SHOULD be… (and BTW this is for AN/APG-63 PSP, the radar on F-15A/J and Baz Meshupar ingame, so the V1 is likely even better)
As for the RAM, gaijin said they don’t give RAM if the plane has TWS. They gave it to the F-15A/J because they refuse to give them TWS since “it is intended”???
Wow thanks for the images, fun read. Wouldn’t this mean that all the F15 from A-J-C-JM should display NCTR? I don’t see a bug report for this, so shouldn’t we make one? Do you have any primary sources or did Gaijin shut down that idea permanently?
I can probably make one. The only report I know of is for the F-15C/J(M). Community Bug Reporting System No primary sources, but multiple secondary. I’ll make it in the next couple days. Israeli F-15A is out of luck though…
I really wish that at some point they make ASM-2 cas capable and the adition of the GPS one
Having the F-2 with a Japanese “kh-38” similar missiles would be amazing
GPS ASM-2 would be cool but I think it would still be sea skimming?
I would like to see ASM-3 that would be closest to KH38 at least in performance ramjet supersonic missile but again not sure about ground attack capabilities
Supposedly there was a DL equipped ASM-2 variant that worked like the Walleye DL, where it would put a video feed back to the pilot for manual target selection. IMO thats probably a better bet for using one for ground attack. As sea skimming is distance based, so by using a mode that doesnt lock initially, you can avoid sea skimming flr much farther.
And nah, the ASM-3 is truly in a class of its own, atleast for air launched munitions. If gaijin does ever add it for some reason though, ill make sure to bug report it till we can use it as a makeshift AAM if nothing else.
Where? I saw it only in book about F-1 where it was mentioned as planned
And anyway if there isn’t mention that prototype was made - it is not proofed that missile exist in any way
As it was said F-1 can carry ASM-1 which is ASM and not AGM
Also GCS-1 was mentioned but with story “proove it can track tanks” there aren’t hopes for this weapon.
ASM-2 was once seen during early XASM-2 prototypes tests but was seen on FS-T2 Kai which honestly a little bit not F-1 and not clear was it fully working prototype
Anyway it is still ASM-2 which is also ASM
There wasn’t any other AGM for F-1. Only thing which can be called anti ground and missing in game is CBU-87 cluster bomb because here isn’t cluster bombs in WT
It was given because there was once photo of F-4EJ Kai with JDAM but F-4EJ Kai can’t use JDAMs and even on that photo it was attached on pylon which can’t use GPS weapon.
Is it the case where the set point was chosen before launch or were they simply testing the flight performance with different weaponry like how the usually test more modern weapons on old airframes.
It was just attached in the public show. My theory is that they just used it as “bomb” example.
In theory it is possible to set point on the ground but not clear is it the part of JSDF tactic and as I understand it still needs some minor changes in construction like adding batteries to the pylons and etc to use it
