i know this is OOT but i like to do the stupid comparison
do we know if the Type 10 can dispense the smoke from the launcher? any video? manual isn’t counted somehow.
because if not then it definitely cannot use it

A little note that it is FS-T2 Kai aka T-2 with full combat systems from F-1 so in fact it is F-1 and not regular T-2
But we anyway has T-2 manual with page stating it can use AIM-9L
And this one is not GBU but GCS

Proving that T-2 can’t use AIM-9L let alone any other ground munition.
“Guided Bomb Unit” just means that it is guided and can move to the target, which is exactly what the GCS are about ^^

Technically the Type-91/GCS-1 is using IR Tracking device coupled to an INS system (in-game, weapons which INS are given GNSS guidance type) - kinda similar to AASM-250 (SBU-64) “Hammer”, but without any rocket booster.
those have been extensively used in testing and trainning by F-1 (in both M117/Mk.82) then F-2 pilots(Mk.82 only)
so yes, the system is able to “see”
now make your search about CAT-AIM-9L and CAT-AAM-3,…

It can see but fails to track and hit targets. essentially you just have bomb that follows CCIP. congrats.

GCS-1 and 2 would be useless in game,
Can’t track ground targets, at best can only track targets the size of destroyers/frigates.
GCS-2 is GPS only with worse accuracy.
