Do you have a source for the conversion of F-4EJ to RF-4EJ to remove the capability to use suspended armaments? From images of the cockpits it seems at least the controls are still there and images show them at least carrying IR missiles.
If you have any (declassified) sources that the weapons computer was removed those would be very interesting to see.

Still, at the very least it is armed with a cannon, which might be interesting.

Isn’t this the same person who tried arguing against AAM-3 on the EJ Kai cause their old manual didn’t have it listed, despite photographic evidence disagreeing, the dates not lining up, and the manual still being classified?

Yes, that’s why I’m skeptical here too. But if there is sources this time it could be helpful

I have no hope, I do however take pride in that we’ve attracted our designated poorly sourced hater, a great achievement for any minor nation thread

Not sure why you guys even bother to entertain him its best to just avoid his comments if it just leads to useless arguments.

The RF-4E is unarmed, but the RF-4EJ was created by adding a reconnaissance pod to the early F-4EJ model, so it retains its original weapon capabilities. Its RWR was later upgraded to the EJ Kai standard.
When you say “RF-4EJ Kai”, is that what you’re referring to?

Personally, I’m somewhat opposed to adding aircraft such as the F-104DJ, which has neither a Vulcan nor countermeasures, or the RF-4EJ, which is no different from the F-4EJ, as well as the RF-4EJ (Kai?) which has only its RWR upgraded. I do understand the desire to make existing aircraft capable of carrying the AAM-3, though.

As for South Korea, I’d like to see it combined with North Korea in the form of a unified Korean tree. Even though they are technically at a ceasefire, I’d like to see the interesting situation of two nations in dispute being merged.

don’t bother checking for the RF-4E/EJ Kai’s existence, it is not a real plane.
it’s just a designation Saryn gives to hype up the Recce phantoms.

There’s still reasons to add the DJ(M), particularly if gaijin ever added electronic warfare, as then it could get it’s ECM pod. Also F-15DJs #063-098 were upgraded with the (Modernization) package for J-MSIP, although I’m not sure which ones were type I and which ones were type II.

Firstly, again, you really shouldn’t be that hostile against people, remember last time.

Secondly, even though kai is not the official name for the package, that is still the generally accepted common name for them, due to the nature of what their upgrade included.

Also why would they need to practice with something they can’t use?

Look at this cockpit of the RF-4EJ, where do you see weapons stations or selection?

This is one of F-4EJ.

RF-4EJ lacks the weapons panel on the center

Blue is the missile status/ready display, and red is the missile controls. It’s in a different layout then on the normal F-4EJ, but you can still barely make out writing on it, the first letter is clearly an M, with the last two being LE, and each of the knobs can be tracked to one another by the writing next to them. And except for the one i labeled 4, the writing lines up.

Funnily though, your images do show that the F-4EJ didn’t have air to grounds munition controls, average JASDF ground strike capability lmao.

Is F2B has HMD?

F-2B is just a ‘‘trainer’’ version of the F-2A. It has a WSO, on top of the pilot. There is no HMD. In WT it would just be a heavier (= worse) F-2A.
