General Japanese & JASDF General Discussion

Here’s something I made a while ago. (It’s not complete)

I just realized I posted this in here already some time ago 😭

T-4 is an unarmed trainer.

That’s why we need XT-4!

Back to the list, here is some other a little bit weird (as for me) things:

  • Here is G6M in bomber line but this plane missing any bomb load, it was used as gunner plane for covering bombers
  • Ki-78 was plane for researchs only and no weapon wasn’t even planned
  • Ki-15 (both). Not sure but according to JP wiki it was missing bombload but placed in bomber line here. Too lazy to check books tbh
  • S1A is attacker when it was 100% interceptor. Yeah it had 2 250kg bombs but it is more closer to Ki-83
  • P1Y2 is attacker but if I don’t mistake it is just P1Y1 with another engines (but I can be wrong here)
    Maybe I missed also something

I think he might be referring to Kawasaki MT-X (Kawasaki T-4 trainer prototype)

Correction about the P-4 → This is the P-1, could be good at 9.7ish due to it’s large size

Very cool list, but as you alluded to, there’s quite a few missing :)

In no particular order, just the ones I’d like to see:

Ki-61-I Tei Kai

Ki-61-III

Ki-100-I Otsu

A6M3 Model 32 w/ 30mm wing guns

A6M3 Model 32 w/ Type 99-2s

Ki-44-II Ko

Ki-44-III

Later J2M models such as J2M3 Ko with 4x Type 99-2s

Late Ki-43-II

XT-2

That one Ki-27 with one of the 7.7s swapped out for a Ho-103, not entirely sure it was real but it’s possible (copium)

Ki-43-IV would be here if it was made, but I don’t think they ever even tried.

Also these two are the same plane:

AFAIK the one in-game is wrong and should be renamed “Ki-61-II Ko Kai” since it has the ‘split’ armament, and a new one added with the existing name (Otsu Kai) with 4x Ho-5s

A7M3-J Kai displayed at Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Yokohama in 2019.

This’ll be mighty spicy to add (gaijin pls add thank youuuuuu)

to this day I find it interesting/odd that the T-4 is an unarmed aircaft considering the story of other training planes from the JASDF, is pretty cool to look at it though and I hope to get a 1/144 model of a T-4 one of these days

isnt that a mockup?

I dont think so actually

Yes, it’s a 1:1 scale, non-functional replica.

Unfortunately it’s just a replica, but I believe the A7M3 was partially built. Still very cool.

  1. Ki-15 has only a machine gun for self-defense, Ki-78 is unarmed, J4M1 was not built, Ki-94-I and Ki-84N were not built either. G8N2 and 3 were not built, G7M was not built either, Tenga is a total fiction. The Ki-87-II is just a project

  2. Additionally, the photo of the Ki-116 is fiction. There are no photos of the Ki-116 aircraft.

  3. Just for information, the Mitsubishi Ki-67-I AEW aircraft is already in the game. At the end of the war, the Japanese army began to introduce TaKi 1 radars to equip many aircraft. For example, the Ki-49 or the Ki-67

  4. Missing aircraft: Kawasaki P2V-7, Kawasaki P-2J, Kawasaki P-3C, Aichi B7A1, Aichi M6A1/-K, Fiat BR.20 , Fuji T-1B/C, Grumman TBM-3S2 , Grumman S2F-1, Heinkel DXHe1, Heinkel He 119, Junkers Ju 87 K-1 , Kokusai Ki-76 , Kawanishi N1K1-Jb ,Kawanishi N1K1-Jc , Kawanishi N1K3-A , Kawanishi H6K5, Kawasaki Ki-3, Kawasaki Ki-5 , Kawasaki Ki-10-II Kai , Kawasaki Ki-28, Kawasaki Ki-45 Kai Bo, Kawasaki Ki-48-IIc, Kawasaki Ki-100-Ib Kawasaki Ki-102a, Kawasaki Ki-102c, Lockheed PV-2, Lockheed PV-2D , Mansyū Ki-71, Messerschmitt Me 210A-2 W.Nr.2350 , Mitsubishi A5M3a , Mitsubishi A6M2 Sen Baku, Experimental Mitsubishi A6M3 with 30mm Type 2 cannons, Mitsubishi A6M5d-S, Mitsubishi Ki-18, Mitsubishi Ki-33, Mitsubishi FS-T2 Kai, Mitsubishi Ki-21-Ib, Mitsubishi Ki-21-IIa ,Mitsubishi Ki-21-IIb, Mitsubishi J2M1, Mitsubishi J2M6 , Mitsubishi Ki-46-III B, Mitsubishi Ki-46-IVB, Nakajima Kikka prototype, Nakajima C6N1-S 20/30 mm, Nakajima LB-2, Nakajima Ki-19, Nakajima J1N1-Sa, Nakajima A5N1, Nakajima Ki-8, Nakajima Ki-11, Nakajima Ki-12, Nakajima Ki-27a, Nakajima Ki-43-IIb , Nakajima Ki-43-IIc, Nakajima Ki-43-IIIa, Nakajima Ki-44-IIa, Nakajima Ki-44-III, Nakajima Ki-84-Id, Nakajima Ki-84-II , Nakajima Ki-113, Tachikawa Ki-36, Tachikawa Ki-106, Yokosuka D4Y2-S, Yokosuka P1Y1b.

we still have replica’s/mockup’s including kitbashed/fictional vehicles (LOOKING AT YOU OSTWIND II AND ZERSTORER 45) in the game so maybe the A7M3-J Kai could be an event or BP vehicle something new but also very unique since if i recall it was intended to be a turbo jet

I thought the Ki-43-II never got Ko/Otsu/Hei models since those almost always meant a change in armament. Are these to differentiate the revisions it got?

as an aside: the american captured Ki-43-II is the latest Ki-43-II in the game, the japanese one is an earlier model. However both have the same performance.
