General Italian Naval Forces Tech Tree Discussion (Romania and Hungary included)

Were any ship specific parts built? That also allows it to be eligible

For suggestions again.

Nice, I’ve also find my very old draft of Italian bluewater ships lines. Probably from the time, when Zara was the top.

Spoiler

unknown

Maybe with a austro-hungarian line and an extra line for pre-dreadnaught battleships, the tree could become as large and comparable to other big naval nations

Also I think that we should get an early variant of the conte di cavour, possible a 1933 giulio cesare or even a 1914 version

I had taken a bit of a look and apparently the main guns for what was intended to the first battleship were complete, allowing it to be eligible under the same rule that allows the A150 class to be eligible aswell if true, problem is the two cited sources are books I don’t own.

What are the titles and authors of those books ?

Greger, René (1976). Austro-Hungarian Warships of World War I.

Fitzsimons, Bernard (1978). The Illustrated Encyclopedia of 20th Century Weapons and Warfare.

From the eleven 35 cm guns ordered two were certainly finished and a third may have been finished. The first gun, the Rohr Nr. 1 (Barrel No. 1) was tested at Pilsen in November 1914. These guns were designated as 35 cm M16 and were used on the Italian Front and on the Romanian Front. On the latter front a 35 cm gun along with two 42 cm howitzers provided artillery support for the Mackensen-Army which crossed the Danube at Shvistov in November 1916. The Rohr Nr. 1, after firing 122 rounds, was sent back from the Italian Front to the Škoda where it was found that despite its damaged chamber the gun was still serviceable. The ultimate fate of these guns after the war is unknown.

So does that mean it allows the Ersatz Monarch to pass?

Also does that website have additional naval sources? Could help with some other suggestions.

i dont exactly know what the criteria is for a ship to be added, but some guns for it were manufactured.
The source for the claim of 2-3 guns were finished is based on:
M. Christian Ortner: Die österreichisch-ungarische Artillerie 1867-1918 Wien, 2007 (Ortner) pp. 544-545.

The website has no additional books on naval stuff; however, Mihály Krámli has an extensive list of sources in his linked book.

well than. The Ersatz is indeed a valid suggestion.

(unfinished) prototype:

  • Vehicle-specific parts (i.e. guns, powerplants, etc.) were built

Surprisingly enough it’s 5.0 and not 5.3. I think it’s quite a decent premium, especially for players who haven’t touched Italian naval forces yet.

if its 5.0 i think that means gaijin forgot to give her 12 second reload and its gonna have 15 second reload like the older gun model that Bartolomeo Colleoni uses?

I hope not, cannons are named correctly at least, maybe just a bit of premium bias or will get br increase eventually.

definetly think germany should get some of the austria hungary ships most should go to italy but still germany should get a few as there built on german doctrine and had very little to justify going to italy other than italian naval being bad

giving italy austria hungary ships makes very little sense as they really didnt have anything to do with them at the time i understand later like WW2 but WW1 stuff should be germany as they follow more towards germany then italy

there are enough austrian BBs to go around

It has the same 152 mm/53 OTO Mod. 29 cannon as the Eugenio di Savoia, Raimondo Montecuccoli, and Kerch, with a top reload of 7.5 seconds. The Bartolomeo Colleoni uses 152 mm/53 OTO Mod. 26.

“very little to justify”…Literally, the Hungarian Kingdom being an Italian subtree. Because let’s not forget, Hungary during ww2 was still a Kingdom. The same one that built some of the A-H ships and financed the navy. Compared to this, what claim does Germany have on these ships? Nothing!

Hungary built the Szent István, was contracted (STT and Ganz-Danubius) to build the Ersatz Monarch, and many other destroyers, submarines.

they where built to german standard
useing german equiment for engines armor and other technology while being built domestically with german parts and they fought against italy during WW1

you should do some reasearch bud

Babenberg had three 24 cm (9.4 in) L/40 guns, two mounted in a twin turret forward and one mounted in a single turret aft of the main superstructure. The C 97-type guns were manufactured by Krupp in Germany.[3]

SMS" stands for "Seiner Majestät Schiff ", or “His Majesty’s Ship” in German.

literally the case for all hungarian BBS also There are 12 hungarian BBs easily could be split between to trees

The Austro-Hungarian Navy or Imperial and Royal War Navy (German: kaiserliche und königliche Kriegsmarine , in short k.u.k. Kriegsmarine , Hungarian: Császári és Királyi Haditengerészet ) was the naval force of Austria-Hungary. Ships of the Austro-Hungarian Navy were designated SMS , for Seiner Majestät Schiff (His Majesty’s Ship). The k.u.k. Kriegsmarine came into being after the formation of Austria-Hungary in 1867, and ceased to exist in 1918 upon the Empire’s defeat and subsequent collapse at the end of World War I.
