War Thunder is broken on Geforce Now currently because Battle Eye cannot install. Not sure if someone on the Gaijin end can reach out to Nvidia and get them to update the image.
Problem is BattleEye needs to be installed with admin privileges, and cloud gaming services like Geforce Now don’t grant the user those permissions (for obvious reasons) so these updates need to be baked into the disk images in order to work.
I have a temporary solution for Geforce Now. If you untick “anti-cheat” and load the game, it will load. Then try to enter an RB and it will fail, citing a need for anti-cheat and ask to reload.
Upon reload it doesn’t re-prompt re: battleye. Maybe batteye is optional until the cutover is full.
I have. They seemed to think no update occurred, so perhaps Gaijin needs to communicate the anti-cheat software updated not the game itself to them so they can make a new image.
The runas admin is what I had needed to do to fix the install error. Even though running it normal was bringing up the “this program wants to do changes” security box, it still wasn’t working.
There is also this troubleshooting reference I saw referred to somewhere else (can’t recall where):
No problem! I was just trying to raise the red flag here.
Although, do you know if it is Nvidia or Gaijin which manages the game VHDX (virtual hard disk) images? I would assume they handle installing the game in the VHDX images whenever a patch comes out.
However, if they will allow Gaijin to do so, that might allow you all to release more stable artifacts (VHDX images) into their infrastructure and allow you to test before hand. If they won’t let you build the images, perhaps they can provide a testing environment so the Gaijin QA team can test VHDX images and then submit them to Nvidia for approval and production environment distribution?
Just thinking out loud how Gaijin and Nvidia can work together to streamline the build/release/promote process into Geforce Now.
Yes, but I play from the launcher and not from Geforce now… I just relaunched today, it still doesn’t work. I guess we’ll have to wait for Gaijin’s reply.
I can’t launch war thunder via the gaijin launcher on GeforceNow, I can only launch it with steam, but then I can’t log on my account, do you guys have the same issue
