Game progression too fast

This statement used to be true when 10.0 was the main BR black hole as every major nation had premium vehicles at this range and it was understood the quality of player was going to be reduced.

This is not the case currently at 11.3 because Gaijin decided to add top rank premium vehicles two only two nations, US and Britain.

The effect on the US win rate of this decision can not be understated. Putting brand new players against people with 1,000 hours in vehicles where aim becomes a genuine issue and moving out of cover in the wrong sight line is a guaranteed kill shot is asinine.

At low tier you have seal clubbing but not at the speed with which top tier battles are resolved.

This isn’t helped by Gaijin’s insistence of making 7/10 maps a knife fight within a 1000 meter box.

Counter: people who are new should not be given complex controls and expected to master them.

Should new players be able to enjoy modern tanks? Sure. Should they be given more than a single MBT to use in a match? Most certainly.

Gaijin’s insistence on maintaining an outdated premium system their own mobile counterpart has already changed is becoming a larger issue the further they drive up the battle rating of premiums.

“we will never make top rank premiums” is a half truth, today’s top rank premiums were yesterday’s top rank vehicles. It doesn’t suddenly fix itself because there’s now Rank VIII tanks with identical performance.

War Thunder, like many online shooting games, is one that allows you to enter and leave matches of your own volition and requires nothing of any of the players. The point of the game is to have fun and nothing else.

You do not need to win, you do not need to work together, you do not need to play any objective, you do not need to interact with any of the game’s mechanics, you don’t need to interact with any teammates or any enemies, you do not need to be friendly, and you do not even need to be at your computer.

This is not a premium tank problem, this is a community problem. The game can’t and shouldn’t force anyone to do anything, it’s a game and always takes a backseat to life and the health of the players. If someone is having a bad time, let them leave. If they want to goof around with their friends, let em. If they want to try a weird strat that probably won’t work, let them try. If they don’t have the patience to grind something the “correct” way, be grateful they’re at least keeping the Gaijin money pit full. You don’t own this game, we all do. Find a way to get along or you’ll just be all the more miserable.

Go ruin a different game.

Again…like IRL, each side should have good and bad players…as long as both teams as adequately matched it should work…
In real war, there are LOTS of participants that actually do little to help…if anything, WT has MORE expert “players” than real life…as there are a lot more “experience”…

I still dont get the point…if both teams have aces, averages and “newbies” it should be fair and fun…aces will decide the match, averages will do their silent part and newbies will hopefully learn…

“should”

You have completely ignored that their are only two nations with 11.3 premiums

Premiums attract noobs, not pros.

The current balance of skill is towards nations with new vehicles worth playing, Germany and Sweden.

That’s why their win rates are so high right now while US is near 40%.

Simple. You pull out a credit card (or other suitable means of payment), and you buy a premium vehicle. No effort required, no skill required, just gotta pay the money and off you go.

The magical knowledge: it’s a game. it’s internet make-belief tanky shooty pixels. Some people just want to hop in a tank, go pew pew, and they’re happy to basically “suck” at the game. Not all of us are here for sweaty gameplay.

Or maybe the magic knowledge is that some people just aren’t very good. Maybe some people figured screw that WW2 grind, I want my modern tanks now and they bought a premium and don’t know yet how to play the game.

Or maybe the magic knowledge is that at top tier, gameplay pretty much revolves around who sees who first. People who don’t spend days memorising maps generally tend to be seen first because there are (still) a heck of a lot of cheeky and cheesy spots on maps to dink people from - and they won’t know you’re there.

Or maybe the magic knowledge is that you will get all sorts playing this game with differing levels of skill, and that if that bothers you this much, you should probably go outside and touch some grass, or go touch a woman or something.

Relax. It’s just a game.

It was a joke, man. What the heck

You really need to go touch some grass or somethin’…

I need my team mates to be team mates not AI

No. You will have AI teammates for time eternal. The snail has so dictated.

Yes i did…if the issue only applies to 11.3, then it is of little relevance to me and most players. And it will sort itself over time as the game moves forward…unless some day we get to a point where some nations cant field the same level top vehicles…
(I am guessing that when we get there “imagination” will be used…actually i am curious on what they will do when there is nothing “real” to add to the game :) )

The thread is “game progression is too fast”

That being getting to top tier is too fast

So if you don’t play top tier then no the issue isn’t going to effect you that would be a given.

It hasn’t, the issue has gotten worse especially with the new edition of 11.3 premiums

Before only 9.3 - 10.7 was a dead BR range, now 11.3 is a free automatic 40% loss rate for playing US

They’re going to add more premium vehicles, it’s how they make money. I don’t want to see a $70 Leclerc on my team ODL after a T-80 blows up its fuel tanks.

Gaijin needs to radically change how they sell top tier vehicles. As mentioned previously they’ve already done this in the mobile version, they sell vehicles in packs as a full lineup. The same must be done at higher BRs to provide a semblance of balance.

Yes…but the mentioned preimum packs are so close to top tier that their effect is only on the last (a rare for most players) small leg of game progression.

So…my point…game progrssion IS NOT FAST, not even close.
The issue you mention is unbalancing premium packs at top tier…not really related to “progression” i think.

And since we are going a bit offtopic…i actually think we should have a SECOND ENTRY POINT in the game, somewhere around the end of WW2…making progress faster in modern vehicles. (Albeit this would probably mean slower progress in late ww2)

“small leg of game progression”

No. Research required is exponential. You spend more time 8.0+ than you do for 1.0-8.0

That’s by the numbers fact, especially since the addition of foldered vehicles have removed some of the more irrelevant slog which newer players might not have planned around.

Progression in terms of ingame progression as in research points acquired after a match is not fast no. That is not the only way “progression” that is the act of getting to top tier is handled though. Gaijin allows the purchasing of top tier vehicles which is instant “progression”.

It is the direct issue that is being discussed. That being that top tier should be populated with experienced players but Gaijin undermines this natural evolution by allowing skipping.

The value of this can be debated but is irrelevant to my main point, the current method by which premium vehicles are sold is detrimental to the game health irrelevant of general player skill. ODL should not be encouraged.

Debated numerous times, yes it’s an interesting idea. Israel does show this slightly. I don’t know if Gaijin would ever be game.

I would grind China with the fast progression you say.

Simple rank 7 and 8 need a rp and sl cost halved and at least the spaa at pretty low cost
