Game has suddenly started with heavy freezes / stuttering

same thing with a 4080 and 7800x3D

anything happens FPS drops from 220 to under 100
Sound effects, artillery, or simply just looking around or switching view.

ridiculous

Been having this issue too lately with a 4080, 5800x and 64gb ram. I thought it was Ray Tracing so I turned that off but it’s still happening so now I will try going back to DX11.

Been having this issue aswell, ive made a separate forum post hoping to get some luck.

I have a 7700X with a 4070S and I’m getting constant stutters and freezing, when the game does actually start freezing my FPS will always be under 100, usually hovering around 85-90, this will also happen in the hanger as it’ll stick around 50fps.

do you found any solution?

No, looks like its on gaijins end and they cant fix it, I’ve seen a few other older posts with gaijin saying they’ve fixed it but it keeps returning.

I have a 9900K processor. I get constant micro stutters. If i open the task manager i can see that CPU core 2 is at 90% most of the time and when it gets to 100% i get micro stutter and stutter. What it made it a bit better is if i use Process Lasso program and remove the core 2 from allowed cores. It is quite better bit not tottaly fixed and i could live playing like this because with the stutter it is making me go insane. Now i am freaking out if i will get banned for using this program ?

In my case this problem seems to be related to videos playing in the background. I notice that wt causes picture in picture video players to shutter heavily, and alt-tabbing to the video and back results in wt freezing or crashing. I think wt screws up with gpu priorities or something, as no other games have this problem.

It eats all vram

Same things going on with me, I updated everything and its mom on my computer. Reinstalled the game three times now. I happens randomly in matches, test drives. I literally don’t know what’s going on.

If you’re still experiencing this issue, try enabling your C-State in BIOS. After trying to fix my stuttering in Valorant, I also fixed it in War Thunder by changing this setting.

I have it on auto which should mean it’s enabled, should I switch to “enabled” just in case?

This method is indeed effective. I have already played five or six times without any problems. My friend, you are a hero.

It cannot be completely effective; it can only reduce the sending frequency, and problems may still occur after switching windows.

Seems to work also for me. Switched C-states in bios from auto to enabled. CPU: 7800X3D

Played only 2 games, microstuttering seemed to be fixed. Still it could be just another homeopathic remedy :D

Yesterday after installing the latest nvidia driver stuttering got super bad.
Rolled back to 576.52, and its much better. This is the driver version that inno3d recommends.
(I have an inno3D 4080)

I put mine on enabled

At one point I tried rolling back my driver and that worked but it led to a bunch of other issues. Stopgap at best.

I wanted to share my experience on stuttering in War Thunder. I had many especially during fights so it was not… that great tbh.

This is my PC :

  • Ryzen 7 7800X3D (-30 PBO all-core in BIOS) : latest AMD chipset drivers from AMD website
  • ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi (latest BIOS 3.50)
  • NVIDIA RTX 3090 Founders Edition : NVIDIA driver 577.0 (the most recommanded one for RTX 3xxx series GPUs)
  • 2 x 16 GB 6000 MHz CL36 DDR5 RAM (AMD EXPO enabled in BIOS)
  • ASUS ROG STRIX XG17AHPE : 1080P 240 Hz G-SYNC compatible monitor
  • Lexar NM790 1 TB SSD NVMe drive
  • Windows 11 Pro 25H2 : default settings (I disabled VBS and fast startup), no tweaks…

G-SYNC was enabled with the following settings in NVIDIA control panel : 237 FPS max., V-SYNC ON. With SSAA X4 in-game, I had many stutters. Using RivaTuner, I monitored the frametime and it was always spiking at high ms with 4.2ms at lowest and around 15ms at highest. Any actions made stuttering. So, I disabled SSAA X4 and use the following settings in my config.blk :

As you can see, I put 3840 x 2160 in order to have pretty much the equivalent to SSAA X4. I have no more spikes !!! I also put 160 FPS max. in NVIDIA control panel. The experience is now crazy smooth, no more spikes.

In BIOS, I turned off many settings that I don’t need : FTPM, Fast Startup, IOMMU… I turned on : Global C-States, Above 4G decoding with Resizable-Bar and that’s it.

PS : I’m using DX11, never had a good experience with DX12 and I don’t care about Ray-Tracing.
