Look where i dropped this bomb, In the middle of a Courtyard FULL of enemies, why in the hell did it end up like 300 yards BACK, in a cluster of my own FRIENDLIES!
made me team kill 4 friendlies i didn’t even mean to kill, i dropped that bomb on a enemy push to HELP THEM, but NOPE. it gets magically pulled back by the hand of god so that it hits literally every friendly on the cap.
It probably has something to do with the fact that you are climbing at a decent angle, you are maneuvering, and you are at a high altitude. The bomb also takes a second to leave the bay, so you may have tapped it on its way out.
No, no, and no? i was flying basically flat, didn’t turn till the bomb cleared the bay… and none of that would have made it fall SHORT. if i tapped it it would have went left or right.
I have used the Lincoln to drop like 300 of these 12ks atleast, and it has NEVER done this before.
I’d believe that the bomb was stuck or leaved the bay in a bad angle. I remember playing vehicles like Tu-2 which does have a bomb bay and a rather larger bomb, it get easily stuck into the fuselage. I believe that there’s nothing wrong with the game but rather a misunderstand or a change going unnoticed; See, despite the optic system for the bomb showing a specific spot,
0° angle for reference with the desired spot to the bomb to land and the real spot it landed (general area, not accurate)
See that the bomb will land in the area around the 0° which I believe being the main cause of this issue, as the bomb optic is not 100% accurate, which if I’m not wrong used to be but I think a change regarding this was passed.
Mate… the Autopilot ALWAYS tilts the plane up. it ALWAYS does that, and yet without fail the bomb ALWAYS goes where i aim, yet this ONE TIME, it didn’t.
The crosshair ALWAYS says where the bomb goes, no matter angle, or speed. Unless you are in a turn, which i wasn’t. I was making adjustments to where the bomb was going to LAND yes, but at the time i press space i was IN LEVEL FLIGHT Other than the slow climb the Ai pilot ALWAYS puts you in when you go into the bombsight.
The autopilot never tilt the planes, it alignes it ahead to around 0° always, that’s why when you change, if you have said option turned on, to the bow gunner the planes self-stabilizes itself, considering that you might not have autopilot for bomb sight so bow gunner, I think my explanation will fits best to clarify this situation, as I said before this is a rather new because I had similar issue with the Tu-2 recently like that, although more visible with the bomb clipping through the airplane then itself dropping.
I’m not an airplane expert but I think I have a good amount of knowledge specially with bomb toss which in this case should’ve worked however by misunderstanding this wasn’t the case, if you could reavaliate the screenshot explaining the situation you may find the answer for a similar situation in the future. It may be intentional or a issue, regarding that, as much as I tried to find datamines or updates, with no success.
With that in mind you could consider the moment you dropped the airplane could’ve tried to stabilize. I’m in hopes that someone with more knowledge could give you a better answer; considering that, I’ve watched again the footage and you seems to struggle to keep the plane in place while using the bomber optic, the moment you dropped and left the bomb optic the plane was in movement tilting to the side which may, or may not messed with the bomb trajectory.
The bomb drops fast, the tilt was me throwing the plane into a roll turn to turn back towards base before i got into range of enemy SPAA.
the 12k clears the bomb bay in like .2 of a second, if that because its so heavy. I didn’t hit it. i went into test drive and tested this like 4 times, tried to mimic my movements exactly, and the bomb didn’t get smacked.
Also if ANYTHING, the plane going into a climb would have made the bomb go farther, as that is how bomb tosses work, you use a upward tilt and the Planes speed to toss the bomb.
