Gaijin really wants you to believe the Abrams doesn't have armor here

It’s pretty funny. Gaijin believes that this area has LESS material than less of the width of the average cellular phone. For example the Samsung S26 is 2.82 inches wide. The iPhone 17 is 2.81 inches wide. Look at your phone, then look at this picture. 50.8mm = 2 Inches.

Now look at this photo.

Gaijin refuses to make this area volumetric. It’s pretty sad. Even if it really had a 25.4mm thickness (which would be top to bottom), a shell would need to travel 3feet through 25.4mm of steel in order to get into the main portion of the turret. This is intentionally not modeled correctly just to spite the US.

Now take a look at my old gunshield armor thread which proves that the Abrams has at least 200mm more gunshield armor than in game. Gaijin has “accepted” these bug reports but still chooses to do nothing to fix the Abrams.

Now lets talk about the bug reports Gaijin has accepted but just sits on.

Abrams Turret basket is a seperate component

Hydraulic Pump of all models of M1 Abrams is incorrect.

The Abrams was tolerable before the BMPT was added. There were numerous complaints already by US mains about being frontally penetrated by things like the Puma and standard BMP. That was fine since they could be dealt with in one shot. With the addition of the BMPT, anyone who knows how to hull down is impervious to being one shot. The Abrams is now rendered completely useless. It’s reaching the point of being stupid. Personally I’m close to wiping my hands of this game. I already took a 3 month break, but I did enjoy the Nuclear Thunder event so I picked up the game again. The enjoyment of top tier is just crushed.

Gaijin needs to drop their pathetic catering to certain nations and spend time fixing Nato vehicles.

As for the mains from other nations that will come in here and say US main cope, say the Abrams is already fine, yadda yadda yadda. These fixes will have little effect against other MBTs. Your Leos and T80s will still penetrate the Abrams in the same places. Your Bmps and Pumas will not though. This is fair. The Bradley cannot frontally penetrate any MBT with it’s main gun.

Turret ring and placement of hydraulic pump is so annoying

It’s not even the main hydraulic pump and the fun part is there’s also a manual traverse / elevation crank that the gunner has if the hydraulic system fails.

the funny thing is that in the picture that they used to justify the turret baskets you can actually see that the turret ring has 3 interlocking groves, which just eyeballing it I would guess are at least double the effective thickness then what’s in game.

Just because tanks are good doesn’t mean they should not get legitimate fixes, (just don’t start with stuff like “the spall liner is in the composite armour nonsense, that IS cope”) and the turret ring thickness is obviously incorrect and I also think that the turret baskets need to have critical components modeled on them, not just be a single piece that disables the whole tank if hit and components should have more “HP” and be faster to repair.

yeah, auto cannon performance is a whole different kettle of fish, they all vastly overperform IMO, if they preformed like they do in game in real life I don’t think anybody would be using large caliber tank guns.

All tanks do, and the system is modeled in game, that’s how the turret moves when your engine is off and the battery has gone flat, but for some reason it gets deactivated if you lose hydraulics, (this is also the same for autoloaders)

Leo 2 needs it’s UFP and turret cheeks fixed, Abrams needs cheeks and turret ring fixed too.

Seeing a BMPT pen the turret ring of the Abrams with the 30mm is just sad.

ERA also needs a nerf, it acts like a black hole for APFSDS for no apparent reason
