I don’t know Apaches by sub-models, only by visual differences.
Of which Britain’s has many distinct visual differences, with two notable major ones being electronic warfare suite and engine exhaust.
@AlvisWisla this suggestion would be a viable end of the line addition in a side-branch from the AAC AH Mk.2, since it provides a capable IIR missile since most of what britain uses are MMW weapons, and JAGMs haven’t been procured yet despite ordering them
Neither of these are significant changes that would warrant a whole patch of remodelling, all external changes to the AH Mk2 already exist as textures in game.
TLDR gaijin were lazy and chose not to conduct the simple model changes in order to delay long range FNF missiles to nations besides Russia, USA and China
If I was a novice 3d designer, I could take the AH Mk1 and AH-64E, take the pylons and exhausts from the AH Mk1 and apply those to the AH-64E model, update the optic and bam, you have the ‘new model’ you keep talking about, and it’s accurate, because the british apache fleet was remanufactured (old airframes upgraded to AH-64E standard) meaning they share a large amount of pre-existing components
Never once have I ‘demanded’ that gaijin C&P the guardian into the british tree, simply asking why they didn’t make the simple model adjustments in order to add it, which is a reasonable request
It’s not a model adjustment, it’s whatever’s the fastest method to making the piece for the artist AFTER the research is finalized and sent to the artist as reference material for the piece.
And my complaint is that gaijin should’ve taken that into account, and that’s why I call them lazy, because they chose to delay it instead.
Either way you have bogged the thread down in logical fallacy and derailment about copy paste.
Back on topic, I’d still like to see a Mokopa IR-equipped Rooivalk at rank 7 of the British Heli tree, because for now they would be an interesting alternative to apaches, and unique attack helicopters shouldn’t be locked behind paywalls like the Rooivalk is currently
I mean similarly to Python 4s, people have an irrational fear of MMw heli mounted weaponry (from fixed wings, it’s a bit more problematic), they have been told how amazingly powerful they are, despite equally lethal weapons now being in game (LMURs are arguably as effective as a MMw Hellfire L/Brimstone/JAGM)
I mean Britain is probably going to get their AH64E either next patch or in December Japan could get something and Sweden is the only nation with nothing so as per usual they will lack behind everyone else in the air department.
I agree its annoying not getting a new heli but its not too surprising its not the first time gaijin has withheld vehicles from nations so that 1 specifc nation is the main focus for a patch.
I think sweden will be relegated to a completely fabricated top tier heli (possibly an AH-64E) or some far fetched allied one, since I see nothing viable for the future. Maybe gaijin will give you the F-16AJ treatment, maybe not, only time will tell
I highly doubt that, if that were the case we wouldve seen Halli Air Trial Mig 29 when sweden was stuck with a Viggen against the Mig 29 and F16 for over a year. I think people put too much thought into the T80 and avoid realizing it was mainly added to get people to buy the Mi 28 and have a Russian tank that came from the same trials.
There simply is nothing that can or will give sweden a viable helicopter for top tier as they lack any other trialed vehicles for that area nor looked at any which is what Japan did, though they didn’t trial the early F16. Id love to eat my own words but sweden will likely only ever get the AS50 Fennec as their last remaining helicopter if they get Denmark which only mounted Tows. I think the idea of even assuming sweden would get special treatment for air is plain silly and we have enough stretched logic and don’t need anymore given how much crying resulted from the AHS, Mi-28, and T80 U.
