Now you are here and are thinking this is a bait thread. It isn’t. I appreciate they are experimenting with new features but their lack of standardizing these features across the board is infuriating. Most of these should have been tested on the Dev server and left there until they were completed for all nations. An example like what they did to the Comanche armor. It was tested, not completed for any other helicopter and shelved. Instead, they treat the live server like a long term Dev server.
To name a few:
Interior advanced modeling (namely turret baskets)
Why add this feature if only two nations are affected? Remove them, store them, and once all nations are completed, add it to the live server
DIRCM
Many other helicopters and planes have them. Only added for a few vehicles.
Active Protection Systems
Once again added only for a few vehicles, not all which historically get them
Helicopter IR/TV agms
Again only two nations have these
(edit 4 nations)
I’m sure I’m missing a few, feel free to add to this list
1- Because waiting 2 years for T series tanks to get their autoloaders modeled wasn’t fast enough for players so it’s coming when they’re ready.
2- All the helicopters that have it integrally IRL have it in-game.
3- All the the vehicles with APS currently have APS.
4- Germany, Italy, France, Israel. That’s more than two.
Not every SEPv2 is equipped with Trophy afaik, so gaijin chose to keep it till a standalone vehicle releases or till SEPv3, since gaijin doesn’t make APS’s into mods
May I ask how it’s a garbage argument? What happened w/ T-72B3A and T-72B3 quite literally proves my point… and expecting gaijin to release equivalents for everyone or even some especially when it comes to ground usually sets yourself up for disappointment.
Mainly because the US doesnt operate on “variants” mostly blocks, the APS on the sepv2 IS THE EXACT SAME of without the counter weight but point still stands. To add onto that fact, the electronics where upgraded and the turret drive was changed to electric to run the new systems, mind you the sepv2 in game still has a hydraulic turret. So why upgrade electronics if they are not adding something on? hmm its almost like the aps system was designed to be fitted on the sepv2.
How can they add a vehicle (B3A) and not add the SEP v2 “late”
V2 should have come with aps. There’s no point using the sep v2 over the v1 as the commander controlled machine gun screams, hey I’m hiding behind this hill.
To add to it Apaches can use DIRCM pods
F-15s, F-16s and I’m sure others are able to use CIRCM (edited) pods. I’m sure other nations have a variation as well
from Northrop Grumman
“The flight tests…on an AH-64D helicopter… featured two DIRCM-modified Apache Modular Aircraft Survivability Equipment (AMASE) pods. Final analysis of the data from all 31 flight tests proved the failure-free performance of the DIRCM system.”
I think it should be added to AH-64D as a modification possibly. Maybe make a “AMASE2.0”, Tier IV
Do DIRCM pods for aircraft like that even exist in American service? or at all for that matter? As far as I understand some 64E could get L-DIRCM but I am not so sure about your other examples…
I think the biggest issue at least when it comes to more specific examples, is that there isn’t always an option for everyone, like L-DIRCMs, APSs and hell for the future Anti-Radiation weapons for a 3rd example… Not everyone has a perfect or even semi-perfect equal or counter to something…
That APS is an add-on and better served for SEP3 addition where it’s full integration.
Also gives Gaijin time to folder one of them as I finish Israel, Sweden, Italy, and China ground trees.
As for Black Hawk, I’d have to know what the model is, as not all Black Hawks are the same.
