To start off I want to say I am not opposed to the addition of the Typhoon or Rafale. These aircraft are due and are good additions. What I am opposed to is the addition of the Tranche 2 Block 15 and F3R! These are some of the most recent and modern models of the Typhoon and Rafale respectively! You could have implemented version such as the Tranche 1 Block 2/F.2 and M F1 and everything would have been fine, these aircraft could be accurately modelled and still balanced. But no, CAS performance is a higher priority than accuracy so you added late models and then fictionalized their armament and performance.
Then there’s the issue of these being essentially the LAST models of their types- how likely is it that we ever see an earlier model when more advanced weapons come? Gaijin doesn’t exactly have a good track record of adding older versions of vehicles- look at the F-4s, MiG-23s, and dozens of prop families. And it’s unlikely we’ll even see upgraded weapons- I mean it’s been 6 months since AMRAAMs were introduced and many aircraft that only used them still don’t have them. It’s been over a year since the MiG-29G was added but most MiG-29s still lack R-73s. It’s been OVER THREE YEARS since the introduction of the EJ Kai but the F-4F and FGR.2 still don’t have AIM-9Ls. I wouldn’t put it past Gaijin to just keep Typhoons with AIM-9s forever with IRIS-T and ASRAAM only on foreign “subtree” aircraft.
And for American mains who don’t know or don’t care about these aircraft here’s a comparison that might make more sense: it’s like if next update Gaijin adds an aircraft simply named the “F/A-18” which was an F/A-18E with AIM-9M and AIM-120A, with the implication that there would never be another F-18 in the tree anywhere and that it would never receive any other armament.
So Gaijin, fix it. Either add the accurate air-to-air armament of these late Eurocanard models you’ve chosen and completely break the game or correct your mistake and pick more appropriate ones.
Tranche 3 isn’t being added.
F3R is limited to 6 AAMs, and it’s no where near the last model. There are two more to add minimum.
And I don’t understand why they don’t try to use early variants and slow incremental upgrades to extend the available content updates they can do, we’re nearly reaching the end of the line for air.
They are jumping versions while leaving lots of potential additions behind that will be DOA due to the insane BR compression.
seams like the power-creep is just supposed to continue
if they continue like this we will get paper NGAD in less than 2 years
also i wonder what gaijins plan is if the power creep grands to a halt around next year
Unlikely. Gaijin won’t see a need to add stuff outside of top tier because players will complain that it is doa despite not realizing it isn’t a top tier plane.
Gaijin also needs to massively decompress BRs in order to make everything better too.
To the best that I can tell, we’re getting a late Tranche 1 with some additional ground ordnance added, not an actual tranche 2 Block 15, let alone the Tranche 3 you originally claimed
Only T2B15 onwards are compatible with Brimstones which were also only fitted form Tranche 3s in German service, plus in the files the Typhoons are listed as Block 10s (itself erroneous). But even so the primary point still stands- CAS is coming before accuracy and this is unacceptable
I don’t support your words, good as it is, no need to change it. When an update comes out, 1-1 people always look for excuses (,crying") and unnecessary arguments instead of enjoying the update as it is. I’ts a bit irritating for me. They must have consiedered the new update plan before they released the dev+trailer.
