Gaijin Developers are terrible at balancing top tier CAS

with the recent QnA, i pretty much lost all hope in actual balance for toptier.

  • We wont be getting any decent range maps because gaijin said players prefer maps that lead to spawn camping in the first 5 minutes.
  • Wont be getting any cas balance because gaijin thinks its balanced.
  • Heli Grind, which is one of, if not the worst grind there is, will NOT be touched because people dont play heli pve.

Regarding cas at toptier, its not just russian cas thats OP, look beyond the horizon and youll see the true problem. Its not just the su30.
There are alot of planes that can decimate your entire teams push and positioning in one pass.

F16C, F15E, F16I & F15I, RAFALE, Z10ME, AH64E, and many more planes.
hell, even a gr7 can kill 5 people in one go if they are fast enough.

Its even worse at the br’s just under the high tier sams, where su39’s and F111’s dominate games because the AA arent good enough.

And if you think this is bad, try a single game of sim, youre guaranteed to lose 50% of your team in the first 2 minutes to CAS

Also, how is adding OP helicopters to 6 tech trees bias?

Gaijin stated they’ll keep working on large maps in the Q&A. Just because it’s not 5x5km doesn’t mean 3x3 and 4x4km maps aren’t large.
New SPAA is being introduced, and more detailed models are being worked on.

i outright dropped toptier when lmurs got introduced

I feel Doomed to never be able to finish spading my top tanks because all you’ll find is games full of all of the awful things above………pure oppression

I just enjoy the company of trees and buildings again post-AH-64Es and LMURs.

This is, either you create a fully balanced game where weapons are intentionally made to not work fully as intended, in this case things like Brimstone is out of question or you create a realistic accurate game, I see that there’s little balance between the two, which is Gaijin trying to do. A fully accurate game will outright show the good/powerful and bad/underpowered side, and considering that matchmaking don’t follow a realistic rule of sense, mostly on randomness, minor nations will suffer from this issue, which is why, at least what I can think of, the reason behind all nations with AH-64E do have AGM-179 regardless if it can’t or aren’t equipped with such weapon.

nah. top tier is about whos running train on who, and that changes month by month as to encourage people grinding multiple TTs with help of premiums, and its naive to pretend otherwise.

See the arguments made in official justification for Brimstones being SAL when they released devblog for Su-34 like week later.

If you believe that Kh-38 is nearly effective as Brimstones, is up to you, unlike you, I don’t share a lot of knowledge on missiles guidances, use of radar to detect, track and work in adverse conditions like milimeter-wave type of guidance, which is the only weapon in War Thunder that can have such feature I believe, which Gaijin didn’t added for good reasons. The fact that high tiers is getting or has been dominated by smart weapons by every side more and more is something you can’t just ignore, these weapons will come in time and it seems Gaijin is willing to add more of such content to the game rather than working the ground to make it somewhat suitable: map sizes and counterweapons for these.

Im not talking IRL, so if YOU want to pretend Brimstones are anywhere near the effectivness of Kh38MT thats up to you.

i also didnt say anything about mmW guidance, i said look at arguments that were made about CAS effectivness in the Tornado GR.4 devblog - devs know too well theres imbalance in CAS/Ground interaction at top tier.

It is absolutely intended on devs part to have nation-of-the-month balance by either withholding proper counters, straight up not fixing stuff or adding stuff for whitch the game was nowhere near ready.

Its not only unbalanced, its also cost laughable amount of SP. You literally can spawn in a fnf heli for 1 kill and 1 assist (i killed one and tracked another guy and it was already enough). Thats it. At least kh38 were moved up in SP, but top planes are now only 0.3 br above top tanks so they are cheaper now than they were few months ago. So yeah. Snail doesnt know how to balance their game but instead of trying to fix it they only making it worse

We’re playing a fantasy game anyway, one that’s only loosely based on reality. If the developers wanted to, for example, make the EF a reasonable counterpart to the Russian CAS dominance, they could simply implement the Brimstone’s fire-and-forget mode and make it susceptible to smoke if they think the technology is too strong.

I mean, they clearly aren’t reluctant to add things like the HOSBO, which was barely in development, or the KH-38, which also only exists in theory.
