Yet another foreign tree is getting an M60A3 TTS that offers superior firepower to the US M60A3 TTS. The US TTS is inexplicably limited to M774, while the Chinese and Japanese tree get TTS with DM33. The US TTS fired M900 in Desert Storm. M833 is more than reasonable enough for the US TTS.
That thing would sit at 9.7 if it got that kind of fire power.
Besides the m833 only has 23mm more pen than m774. So it looks a bit useless to me. Also, I think Gaijin added dm33 to those two M60’s was because they have no ERA and because they used to have the sad m735 shells which adding the dm33 was a big bump in fire power.
Really, we need more M833 in general, I was hoping the new Stingray would have it, but it gets a Canadian export round and a German round, neither of which were used by the US. As for the M60A3 TTS though, yes, absolutely, and make the ERA a modification so you can remove it.
I didn’t mention M900 to suggest it get M900, just that it fired M833 and M900 in combat.
Gaijin could have easily given all M60A3 TTS in game M774.
If the difference between M774 and M833 is minor, as you suggest, then there’s even less argument against adding M833.
Gaijin intentionally goes out of its way to not add M833 and it makes no sense.
It’s so weird since there aren’t as many tech tree American 105 mm tanks that fire APFSDS to begin with, and the ones that do fire M774 at best. Why M833 is such a rarity, I have no idea, it’s not like it’s overpowered or anything.
I’ve said the M1 should get M833 from the beginning.
why would you need so much pen at 9.0 lmao
tts is just fine
that i agree with
If M833 is too much, why do the Chinese and Japanese TTS get DM33 with more pen?
because they need to compensate their lack of era
the ERA is hit or miss on being useful, on the A1 RISE (P) it works great, but with the A3 at 9.0 with (from what I’ve experienced) mostly up-tiers or HE rounds that have enough explosive mass to overpressure you (or what i’ve mostly faced which is 30-25mm autocannon killing turret crew through copula) the ERA isn’t really that helpful, it more or less just adds needles weight, like add on track armor on the later shermans, it just adds a tidbit more protection on one of the many shell types of which there is still enough of the tank exposed that it doesn’t really help
in my experience those era bricks absolutely do help, against atgms and helis those are a godsend
Just good ole’ Gaijin and their usual malicious " shenanigans ".
The ERA of the US TTS is not worth 50mm of pen when few people use HEATFS at its BR.
Also, the ERA should be a module, not a fixed part of the tank.
and there is quite a lot of atgms flying around at this br, which make the era actually useful
cmon man they wont give you m833 without a br increase
If M833 makes no difference over M774, why would it need a BR increase?
DM33 still would have an advantage over M833.
it does make a difference
…at a higher br
why do you want 833? 774 is more than enough to deal with anything at that br range
The same argument could be made for the m1 base model at 10.7
Why did the other TTS get DM33 instead of M774?
