Yeah. The plane is super slow but if you climb you can do good in it. It’s 20 mm also slap at their Br. Absolute wing clipper!

The Jagdpanzer IV was quite front heavy and had poor mobility on bad roads, so the troops who received it nicknamed it “Guderian-Duck (Guderian-Ente).” He is probably referring to that episode. I don’t clearly remember why it ended up leading to criticism of Guderian. When I get home I think I’ll pull out my Walter J. Spielberger book and read it again.

IIRC, it is specifically the upgunned version with the L/70 that was called a duck for being front heavy, not the original L/48 version

No, they do not. They were incorporated a couple years ago as an extra perk without any change to existing prices. It’s a way to dicinsentivise 1DL among inexperienced premium buyers.

Regarding the Air RB part: My initial assessment / prediction was fully confirmed - the way lower strike aircraft spawn enforces low alt fights in which the plane runs of energy extremely fast - so you will become a BnZ target for every enemy above 2 km altitude…

Sorry man, but i strongly disagree with your assessment that the Fw 189 C would be a viable option for Air RB - the BR of 2.7 is (way) too high; 2.3 or even 2.0 would be more adequate if you look at the competition at this BR.
Your own vid showed quite impressively that the attacker spawn kills the dominance of the ultra-rare Fw 189 A-1 with a bomber spawn.
You got away with some kills of rookies, but you were most of the time low and slow being more or less helpless vs any BnZ attack. If you would have flown the C-3604 without the instructor you would have noticed that you can turn with most of your enemies too - but you have a way better flight performance and fantastic firepower.
So whilst i have some understanding for your “buy” recommendation as gaijin partner - i recommend to fly a few thousand matches around BR 2.7 - 3.3 to understand that the Fw 189 C will get smoked by the dominant planes there: B-239, Yak-7b, Yak-1B or the way too low MB 157 thanks to the frequent uptiers to Rank III daily task players - without ever having a chance to bring guns on target.

No - i pointed out that i have some understanding for your recommendation - the rest is your interpretation.
I explained rather detailed why the plane has a too high BR - if you would have any clue about the actual reality in Air RB you would have been able to notice that i posted constructive criticism - and you replied with an assumption instead of dealing with reality.
Playing for Germany at this BR is actually a challenge even for long term players as the MM creates (depending on daytime and server) mostly very small 6-8 vs 6-8 lobbies based on the still active axis vs allies MM.
A downside of the popularity of Germany as a Ground RB nation is leading to the fact that German teams end up flying mostly twin-engine CAS aircraft vs often severely undertiered US/UK/France single engine fighters in in more or less infinite uptier loops to 3.3 or even 3.7 battles - whilst your German team has often not a single 3.0/3.3 Bf 109 or Fw 190 to counter them.
Based on roughly 30k Air RB matches at ww2 BRs i would even claim that German props around BR 2.7 are in a systemic disadvantage vs any other nation as the average player has neither the experience nor the necessary passion to make rather good planes like the Bf 109 E-3/4/7 work - the fights are mainly furballs (German team rarely climb) and head-ons in infinite loops which favors 0.50 cal or 20mm ShVak users.
Except the already mentioned C-3604 (which is able to beat any USSR aircraft - with disabled instructor) and the premium (captured) Yak-1B Germany lacks beginner-friendly aircraft at this BR.
When i look at the completely broken Yak-2 KABB at BR 2.3 (!!!) or the 2.7 MiG 3 (both with 2 center-mounted 20mm ShVaks - same as the cannon Chaika at the same BR) only fools would argue that the Fw 189 C has an adequate BR for Air RB.
That’s the reason why i posted - not because you are a gajin partner.

I have decided to buy it anyway, to support the fellow players, who don’t deserve to be punished for a balance error. I doubt I’ll play it for a while, however. I’ll wait either for a change in BR or simply for me to be a more experienced pilot before I give it a go.

When I turn off the Instructor and use MEC, the aircraft experiences a strong sideslip to the left. Takeoff has become extremely difficult due to the flight model. Is this a bug?
You might consider keeping the main slide for the instructor “on” but disable the 5 or 6 individual slides for the instructor by putting them to “off”.
This ensures that the engine torque effects and the need for trimming the aircraft vanishes whilst you still can use the advantages of having no AoA limitations and even better handling.
Using MEC or disabling the individual Instructor slides does not require to use FR controls - i fly exclusively with SFC (Simplified Flight Controls) in Air RB…

Gaijin, what was the point of going through the trouble of adding the SC 10, SD 50, SD 70, etc…into this game if you people then refuse to add these to the payloads of applicable aircraft that used them, including both 189? Is the intention just to clutter up people’s hard drives with unusable assets (bloat)? Alternatively, you are selling an incomplete product that is missing a variety of bomb equipment. Also, if you are selling the ‘ground attack variant’, then it needs its primary ground attack ordnance, the SD 2, mounted in either the AB 23/AB 24 container or on the standard ETC 50 bombrack…

Oh, thats a nice comparisson, i will now call it Gans, just as i always call the Hs 129 Ente. (I dont really care that the Fw 189 wasnt called Gans historically, since it didnt even go in production in the C variant.)

After playing it a while now. Its nice, relatively nimble. But i think 2.7 for ground is way too high, It just got 50kg bombs on the outside wings. Just 2x 15mm against ground (which can work, but do rather low damage). And should in Ground RB be at 2.0 Max.
2.7 is crazy, there are so many other planes, with stronger armarment, bombs and speed. Bf 110. C-3604 Me 210 and more. Even some Bipanes are faster than this.

Bf 109z / He 177 SC 2500 bombs / Fw 189 and other old bug reports by players it’s big bug report list ( the Do 335 B-2 model is wrong it’s copy past from Do 335 A model.
mr snail developer don’t answer question at all for WWII bug reports and i tagged community mangers to get answer but always get ignored most of the time and i keep posting same bugs over and over and complain about this issue for months / years and no answers at all.
why they don’t get fixed after 3 years to 2 years?
