Fox: Penetrates 87mm armor at 30° at 500m
BTR: Penetrates 81mm armor at 0° at 100m
This is not a competetion. The Fox blows the BRT our of the window by a large margin.
With the BRTs only advantage being that it will kill the opponents it can penetrate faster due to the RoF. But then again, against light targets you can just one shot them with 30mm SAPHE.
The BTR fails to penetrate the side hull or turret of a lot of medium or heavy tanks while the Fox can penetrate almost any medium or heavy tank that way, while being smaller, faster, more mobile and having much better stats to react to targets much faster under all cicumstances.
The SAPHE doesn’t even have a tracer so you can kill targets without even revealing your position.
The Warrior is 8.3 and is worse in almost every regard, appart from having ATGMs that come with a the huge downside of taking much longer to hit targets and requiring your vehicle to stay in position.
Remove the cannon and it would be a 6.0 vehicle like the M-51.
I’m not saying the btr is better, it’s comparable. The fox is simply amazing at flanks but can be combated by planes or simply one guy in a tank with enough armour not to die frontally to it. The btr can kill from the side just as much as the fox. The only difference is that the fox has more lenience at the angles it can pen at, the btr has fire rate instead. This means when your rounds don’t pen the side you can switch to taking out the cannon barrel and mgs as it turn towards you, the fox can try this but if you didn’t pen it’s side your not really winning that fight unless you get lucky. Your forgetting how inaccurate the 30mm is, the btrs the same but yet again the fire rate. There are a lot of foxes about and wt players still heavy learnt to ping the map, for whatever reason, so yes it’s going to be anoying for a while. But soon enough people will learn that they are not hard to kill and actually push them instead of acting koy with them allowing them to flank.
Higher firerate doesn’t matter, if its not enough to pen any common tank model of that BR range. Thats also why the Wiesel is useless. Speed, thermals, high rof…all this good stuff doesn’t matter…cause you can’t even pen most tanks from the rear or side. Which renders this whole 7.3 BRed joke pointless.
As I said. No one complains about BTR or Wiesel, cause they don’t have the magical pen of around 100mm required to be good ambushers.
Fox has this, and can wreck all tank models. RoF is high enough to take out stuff. Br needs to be upped to 8.0 to match other high pen autocannon vehicles.
As the other guy said the Wiesel is an spaa and is only 7.0 due to the lrf and thermals. Btr has 81mm of pen? You’re making out as if that’s nothing? You can kill a tiger 2 with that, you can kill a t44 with that, you can kill pretty much any tank with that? How are you using the btr to want the fox to be 8.0 (lmao). The btr is perfectly usable, it’s a better spaa than the fox, fire rate has saved me more than a couple times when I’ve had the chance to use it and the damage is decent enough to take the barrel out on it in a couple shots. The fox is great but they have different play styles. The fox you flank and wait for the perfect moments to start lighting them up and then you run. The btr can lock down flanks and hide behind mounds well enough to actively fight tanks at range, the lack of pen does mean you can’t kill the bigger tanks but what you can do is track and barrel people to help your team. Both of these work amazingly only if you have good team mates. This does explain why you may not like the btr as it’s stuck with either the Russians (not great players intill top tier) or Italy (not enough players to matter). We brits have been dealt shit for years, our best lineups have been around 7.7, 7.0 so most of us have our best line ups we’ve been using for years around the fox and therefore are a lot better than the average Joe at this br. Try playing the btr in a squad and maybe don’t just rush the enemy but switch your engine off and wait, let them pass and then maybe shoot, maybe simply distract for a squad mate.
Wiesel is a light airborne combat vehicle. If you consider it an SPAA you have no clue.
Just because Gajin tags it an SPAA, it doesn’t mean it is an SPAA. It can’t even elevate its gun high enough to shot at passing by planes. Also its gun just traverses along the frontal arc. Even a Panzer IV is more usefull anti air than that.
in terms of WT, it works fine as an SPAA arguably as a little ninja vehicle. And with that Panzer IV argument you lose all credibility and just look like somebody REEEEing into the wind.
If I can make the Ratel 20s autocannon work well enough for the job of qwasi AA and light tank hunter, I am sure you can on the weisel. (note: actually killing the plane isnt always the job of SPAA, good SPAA can also cause enemy bombers/CAS to fail a drop by having to divert to avoid death too)
The thing can aim 45 degrees up, its fine, if you need more, find a little hill to push up on and use the edge of.
Congratulations. We just found out what a true SPAA is an what’s not. Wiesel elevation is not enough to shot at a plane which is diving down for a typical bomb or strafing attack.
It works fine for an SPAA role in WT, been shot down by them plenty along with seeing allies shoot things down with them. Stormer only goes to 60 degrees, under your view, it is not a SPAA system xD
I read that it is balanced and blah blah blah.
But the reality is that that vehicle is BROKEN, OP, UNBALANCED, it literally killed 4 tiger2s in one second. I couldn’t even turn the machine gun on top of the turret because I was already dead. THERE IS NO TANK THAT CAN ROTATE THE CANNON SO FAST!
It runs at 90km per hour, shoots at a stupidly fast speed, and on top of that each shot breaks something…
NOT EVEN THE 6.7 LIGHT TANK OF THE PASS DOES THAT DAMAGE WITH THAT AMMUNITION.
They need to fix it urgently.
We all saw it as it came… but no one hit it and it killed us all… it is a tank from the Cold War, it has nothing to do with those from the 2nd war. Just looking at the statistics tells you how broken that car is.
